Capitals @ Leafs - Apr. 17th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

The game doesn't feel like a 2-0 game but the Leafs defensive play has not been good.

It hasn't been great, but, they've also only allowed 2 shots. Unfortunately, those shots were both Grade A scoring chances that would have required exceptional saves.

The Capitals are getting away with a lot of late finishes on their checks.  I know its not a typical call in the regular season let alone the playoffs but there have been a few that are pretty blatantly more about interference than actually making a play on the puck carrier.

At least pretty blatant penalties that should have been called in those last few minutes. Hard for any team to win when the other team can just haul down players at will.

The Leafs are really getting banged around again. Finally a decent push back shift by Kadri's like throwing some the body around. Seems like the refs have decided to let them play.

I hope CBC switches to the Canadian feed at some point tonight.  Between Hughson being more interested in John Carlson dropping his stick on Kapanen's game winner and the start tonight it's pretty painful listening to this.  (Beyond that I'm not a fan of his broadcast style anyway).

This is sort of textbook good team stuff. Take the crowd out of it early, dominate the puck, give the other team no time or space...not much you can do.

This is still a big learning game.  The bounce back game against a team that lost the previous one.  The first home game.

Hopefully they can keep doing what they have all year and surprising.
