Marincin looked bad on the game winner again.

Not just him. Our D is soft and plays guys in front of the net too soft. Been our achilles all year I think. Positioning is so important in front of the net with some of these new rules. They aint going call a soft penalty in OT so play the guy in front hard.

So so true

However I feel it is important to say this. Here are two things that can both be true:

1. Frederik Andersen played well in this series.

2. Frederik Andersen allowed a lot of soft goals at terrible moments in this series.

6 games all decided by 1 goal.  Would have loved to have won the series but as a team we have a lot to look forward too.

Next year we make it to the second round at least.

Took the #1 team to 6 games, where each one was a coin flip. Lots to be proud of.

Correction: each one was a coin flip save Game 4, which we had no business being part of after that 4 goal deluge, but still managed to make it a 1-goal game.

Little mistakes here or there were exploited by a superior team, but we have mostly fixable issues, largely with more experience.

I would say it a bit different.  Andersen let in a *few* soft goals but they all seemed to come at pivotal moments.

But, put in the balance with all the great saves he made, I'm not sure characterizing the few goals he did let in as "soft" even really means much.

A few is probably more accurate but in a 6 game series where at least 3 goals can be described that way I feel like that's a lot.

Great season.  Still hard not to be a little sad.  There won't ever be a season like this again.  Next year they will have expectations, but I think the will be really good.

I really thought they had this one at 1-0.

I hope Kessel lights up Holtby and someone destroys Ovi, Oshie, and Orpik.

Well, I guess all the people who predicted Caps in 6 were technically right.  But, psychologically, this felt like a 7-game series from the get-go.

Yeah, I can't argue that.

Without all the saves he made during the game the game may have already been out of reach so the weak one doesn't really matter. He played well.

Quite right.  This is one for the ages, in terms of the number of rookies who shone.

I could not agree more with this!  ;)

Don't mean to harp on Marincin but the guy was scratched most of the year, he only played 25 games yet he was getting so much ice in the playoffs.  Even more ice then Carrick who played 67 games.  It didn't make sense to me.

The people who called Caps in 6 or even 5 mainly did so with a dismissive sort of "The Leafs might steal one or two" sort of way as opposed to being in it every game.

But surprisingly I don't hold grudges here. Wish the Leafs would have beat the Caps but the Caps played well and played clean for the most part and are just really good. I'm still pulling for them to win it all now that the Leafs and Habs are gone.
