CBA Agreement Reached

I think we need an Understanding of Understanding (UOU).  That is the quay to Whirled Piece.

reporterchris: The memorandum of understanding has been signed. The NHL lockout is officially over after 119 days. #dropthepuck

TSNBobMcKenzie: It's business as usual - trades and signings - in the NHL starting at midnight ET. #boom

I imagine will see a flurry of re-signings and minors signings announced shortly after things get going. Maybe a few minor trades over the rest of the weekend. Probably nothing major yet.

reporterchris: The NHL playoffs begin April 30 and the Stanley Cup will be handed out no later than June 28.

Holy moly does that ever feel late to hand out a winter sport's trophy.

mirtle: CBA summary says the cap benefit recapture formula won't apply to teams that already traded players on long-term deals (i.e. Jeff Carter)

mirtle: In retained salary deals, the amount kept "cannot be altered from year to year" and the cap hit and salary are the same percentage.

Leaf schedule is up at their website.

Looks like it doesn't include broadcast info for games on Sportsnet or LeafsTV.

That should change soon enough. Unless there's a vote that has to happen for Leafs TV and Sportsnet. In that case, God help us all.

Most of GMs - not all but most - I've spoken to tonight don't anticipate making any moves tonight. Trades and signings legal at midnite ET.

Lame. I was hoping things would be bananas.

No, that's probably more of an internal MLSE thing that they just haven't incorporated yet.

I know, I was just making light of the whole voting, MOU fun that fans got to enjoy all week.
