Anthony Stewart?s take:  Matthews needed to fight harder to backcheck

Why the hell can we not have a competent broadcast

Refs really just abdicated their responsibilities tonight. Helped and hurt both teams. That last play was just the most flagrant examples of how much they didn?t care to do their jobs.

The refs will never be perfect, but they can still fulfill their duties.

I like him as a person but his take on some things is way off. Another prime example...and I'm starting Kallgren Sunday. The D needs to be better and hopefully they will because he's in net

That's just a cowardly performance by the refs.

Make a friging call guys.

Such garbage when they say they don't want reffing to decide a game. That non call just decided the game.

And back to that OT goal, Rielly still can't play a 2 on 1. D man has to stop the pass...Brodie would have stopped it lol.

I guess both Hart candidates got pulled

Ending sucked, but I don't understand why Keefe waited until 4 goals to pull Mrazek.  He said post game he thought about pulling him after the 2nd goal, so why didn't he pull him at least after the 3rd?  It was obvious to anyone watching that Mrazek was lost out there.  I know Kallgren had never played before, but he was at least in position and not swimming in the net.  The Leafs weren't facing a high powered offense like the Avalanche either, throw the kid in there earlier.

First NHL game, 4 mins into it, team playing like crap, regardless of what Mrazek was doing is a recipe for disaster for the kid. You want to try and have a somewhat positive experience and throwing a rookie into the lions den isn't the smart move. When he finally pulled him, he just had enough of Mrazek and the team. Had to change it up.

This. Keefe said very specifically that he wanted to pull at 2-0, but it would have put Kallgren in a tough position coming in surprisingly.

I don't see a scenario where Dubas can ignore the goaltending at the deadline.
Well you're going to see one because I don't see a goalie out there that the Leafs are going to take a run at. All of them are crapshoots just like our guys.  My bro told me he heard a guy on the radio, who tracks goalies stats that said Jack was the best goalie in the league for goals allowed above expected. He was the worst for that stat in Feb. Said he's never seen anything like that in 20+ years .
I still think one of these guys is going to get it together. I also think this is a chance to see what Kallgren has. It will hopefully force the team to play better defensively because lets face it, despite the bad goaltending, they haven't been all that great either. Even last night, nobody can get a stick on the 2nd goal. Liljegren bumps Mrazek out on the 3rd goal and Willy runs a perfect screen on the 4th goal...and I'm not excusing Mrazek because he looked terrible but you need to clean that stuff up.
The team has been playing scared and so have the goalies. Their confidence in each other is down and we all know if you're playing scared, you'll make more mistakes.
