Devils acquire Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson

Two GMs and one player went mental today.

Unbelievable and insane.

Chiarelli blew this trade just as did Bergevin in Montreal. Stamkos, well I guess he decided not to help the other players by taking less money, the same amount he was offered months ago.

Suddenly, its okay today ???

Crazy, just crazy.

Figured Edmonton would trade one or more of RNH, Eberle, and Yakupov before they would ever think of dealing Hall.

Find it hard to believe the Oilers couldn't have got a better deal for Hall than Larsson! Chiarelli should be run out of town for this (or worse as others have hinted at)!  ;)

Remember, folks:  Every little awful move like this by Edmonton slowly moves McDavid in our direction once he's out of Edmonton's servitude.

So Chiarelli has been lucky enough to be able to trade both the #1 and 2 picks from the 2010 draft and he got absolutely fleeced in both.  Impressive.

Peter Chiarelli's mustache looks like a Movember mustache and it's not November.

Definite red-flag.

I feel bad for Edmonton fans.  It would just be so depressing to have such lousy management.  How could this possibly be the best return for Hall?

Well, EDM needs D, Larsson is young, hopefully he can be their rock because they paid dearly for him.

They did, but they can also make it back in spades with an RNH trade.

Hall is the better trade piece between Hall and RNH.  They aren't making anything back unless someone horrendously overpays for him.  Given that Chiarelli couldn't get value for Hall, he sure as hell isn't getting it for RNH.

He will once RNH gets his game going again, you watch.  The injury was unfortunate, but I believe he's recovered.  Centers have more value than wingers if they're on their game.  He closed out the season strong.

Seriously, what does he have against the best players from 2010?

Centers who have never even put up 60 point don't have more value than wingers who have multiple point-per-game seasons. RNH is a very good 2nd line center. Hall is a 1st line winger. He has more value.

Maybe ask Chicago if they value Kane or Toews more.  Kane puts up many more points.

Toews is also significantly better than RNH, and, the production gap between him and Kane isn't as big the gap between Hall and RNH. Toews has outscored Kane in a few seasons, and has been within a couple points in others. The only times RNH has come close to the same production as Hall were seasons where Hall missed 20+ games due to injury.

Edit needed.

And the award for best tweet on the topic goes to...

Draft Pick ‏@nhldrafter
@robvollmanNHL Meanwhile .. Tyler Dellow was last seen running down the hall yelling to Chiarelli - 'I meant Ekman-Larsson!

I feel really, really bad for Larsson. There is no possible way he can play up to the kind of level that will get Edmonton fans not to despise him.
Yep, I hope he plays well for his own sake.

I'm a bit surprised Dellow was retained following Eakins' dismissal.
