Geez, with all the flak Crosby gets you would think he was.... ahem....Phil Kessel lol. One would think that scoring the Golden Goal in 2010 would immortalize the guy.

But I do agree that Mr. Crosby gets a little unnecessarily vocal many a time.  8)

BTW rockin`photo Glennie.

I'm not sure what it is. I actually like Crosby... the rest of the Pens team I don't really care 2 cents about one way or another, but I'd like to see him rack up the hardware that he'd be getting if he wasn't always injured.

The guy has had an extremely rough past couple of years.

Agree. I thought that concussion a few years back was the beginning of the end for him. Great that he came back from so much adversity. I`m not a huge Crosby shipper but I really respect that.

I`d have him on my favorite team, although one time right before he was drafted apparently he said he wouldn`t want to play for the Leafs. Smart guy. Yes these guys get paid the big bucks and some bring bad press on themselves. But he`d get torn apart limb from limb in TO.

I am pushing a bit for the Bruins (although I hate them like nothing else) just so I can console myself that the Leafs epic meltdown was against a team this good. However, this doesn`t guarantee a the future of the Leafs one way or another. I feel a bit for Crosby for getting ripped while having to deal with that Lurch-like creature Chara. I hope he still has some good years in him. I think he does.  :)

Crosby still looks completely lost out there but Malkin dominated that period and Boston was very lucky to get it to OT.

I can't believe Crosby has yet to score a playoff OT goal in his career.

It's a bit of a surprise, but, he also only has 5 playoff game winners, and, earlier in his career, he really looked to pass a lot more than shoot. He was always a very good goal scorer, but it's only in the past few years that he became a great one.

How many playoff OT games has he played? How many OT minutes?  The guy isn't that old and has been injured ...

That's a lot more work than I feel like doing at this time of night, but, he's only lost 4 playoff games in OT in his career, no more than one in any playoff year and never when his team has been in a position to be eliminated, so, at the very least, he hasn't really been in the position where his team needed a goal from him. There's been enough support from his teammates.

We were all over the Pens D earlier but it's their offense with 2 goals in 3 games that failed them tonight. This game was there for them and they just couldn't get the goal to take it.

Bergeron pots the OT winner. Penguins looking to get swept.

Barf!

I hate that all 4 teams left have won recently... spoiled fans, like Boston needs another championship.

Final score:  Boston 2  Pittsburgh 1  OT  Boston leads series 3 games to 0.

Well, what more can be said.  As the score indicates, the Bruins Patrice Bergeron solved the wall that had been Pittsburgh's Thomas Vokoun, in the fifteen minute mark of the second overtime period, sending the Boston crowd into jubilation and the Bruins in firm command of their series.

Not to say that Pittsburgh didn't make it a game.  In fact, this may very well have had all the makings of great hockey -- superb goaltending on both sides of the ice (Pens Vokoun stopped a total of 38 shots, while the Bruins Rask stopped 53), some fiendish offensive efforts from both teams, plenty of hits, posts, slapshots, and what have you.  Not a boring moment indeed.

Still, it just wasn't  enough for Pittsburgh, even with Chris Kunitz's game-tying goal in the second period, and then the overtime, but, somehow, especially in the overtime, the Bruins looked far more like the savvy team that they've come to be.  No matter how or what Pittsburgh did, there was Rask as outstanding as ever in this series.

So now, it comes down to one more game for Boston to win and Pittsburgh to lose.  Unless of course, the Pittsburgh Penguins have other plans.  Judging by the outcomes in this series, it's doubtful.

oh this is sickening.. I cant deal with this Bruin team.. But it's inevitable. No one is beating these crumbs.. no one

Well, we had them beat.... and then..................  :'(

I kind of find it somewhat therapeutic to say that the Leafs gave them the biggest run for their money and did have them within 1:30 of defeat.

I suppose it's a logical conclusion that the Leafs would be up 3 games to none against PIT had they beat BOS??

I'm guessing some of the Leafs players feel the same way. It has to take a little out of the sting of losing like they did, especially if the Bruins go on to win the cup. Of course it's all psychological, but thats really the part that matters most after that kind of defeat. It's all about how they feel about themselves going into next season that matters now.

if the Bruins take it tomorrow night, the Leafs can actually claim they won more games against Boston than both NY and Pittsburgh combined :)

please Brooooins :)

I hate the Bruins, but this is actually very consoling.
