Game 1: Leafs @ Bruins - Apr. 11th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

So I'm seeing on Twitter that Muzzin's wife is due to give birth around game 7 (if the series goes 7). I wish the Muzzin's all the best but please don't let him miss game 7 if it comes to that. Leafs need to sweep this series to do him a solid.

Okay Babcock, let's make sure our best get a lot of minutes. I don't even want to see the 4th line in its entirety at any point.

Kadri, calm down, don't let them get to you.

Matthews, beast mode, please.

Killem with speed and skill.

The way he talked about it to Sportsnet makes it seem like he's willing to miss the birth if it absolutely comes to that:

Unless, of course, Muzzin is bolting from the rink to attend the birth of he and wife Courtney?s daughter. She?s only due sometime around Game 7, but Muzzin assures that the house is in order and a contingency plan is in place.

?Friends and family are so close that we need help or we?re in a sticky situation, we have it,? Muzzin says. ?We?re going to have [the birth] scheduled, so we?ll hopefully plan it so I don?t have to miss.?

It's a little different than Hutch's situation since he pretty much just re-joined the team last week and was probably told by the Marlies that he could have had the time off if he was with them. And of course he's probably not going to be playing anyway.

They have 5 players with 15 or more goals and we have 9 plus a Nylander.

They're a one line team plus Krejci. They have to figure out how to keep the Bergeron line in check and we should be good. Have Tavares and Marner playing hard on them all night long.

If we don't play the 4th line, I am happy with any of the top three lines. Let Boston chase line matching if they want. I would also suggest that we never give our 4th line a defensive zone faceoff.

IT'S GAME TIME.

Tim Apple is a Leafs fan.

I want Tim to know that I still rock an Apple Lisa ca. 1983.

Well, I'd like to.  I do have a couple vintage laptops, including a fully operational Blue Barbie or whatever they called those clamshells.  Best laptop keyboard ever.

Last time Leafs had this many days off was out of the bi-week and they exploded out of it. Babs said today the last three days have been great. For the first time this season the game isn't just two points towards at least a 100-pt season, but a whopping 25% share towards a Round 1 series win. Stakes are up, passions up.

Go Leafs Go.

I'm feeling very optimistic about this game.

Let's see how you feel at 7:00!

Unless there's some event I'm unaware of, I'm betting I'll still feel very optimistic. I'll also be annoyed, because I'm sure my 9-year old will be begging me to use the X-box to play Fortnite, but that's neither here-nor-there.

In truth, (perhaps I'm hoping), I don't think the Leafs are intimidated by the Bruins like a lot of fans are. Tavaras's, Marner's, and Matthews's self-confidence must be through the roof. I think the Leafs are going to win the series and I think Matthews is going to be the reason.
