Game 11 - Toronto Maple Leafs @ Ottawa Senators L3-2

Well to be completely honest I do blame Wilson, most teams can have a decent pk, even if their players suck...it's a matter of how you pressure....the pp is a whole different story though...but I don't blame the players...there must be something wrong with the coaching...you can't be so bad on a constant basis year after year...Wilson must take care of this....start by watching all goals scored on us in the pk....define the situations where the other teams score...from where....how...etc...try to define the most common situations....like 3 of those for example...then try to reduce those 3 by 50%, then evaluate after another 20 games or so..and see if it has improved and then define the most common situations again, and try to reduce the 3 first ones by 50%...

Wilson must do something about the pk, special teams could be the difference between making or not making the playoffs...I heard that we've had one of the worst pk's every single season since the lockout, that's not acceptable...it must improve..

I've been harping about that for ages and it was the reason we missed the playoffs last year I think. Don't undestand it. I think our biggest problem is we are way too soft on the puck when we don't have it. Got to be more aggresive in getting and keeping it. I have blamed Wilson for our speciality teams and although we have made some player changes I'm starting to think maybe it's the players.

So you're saying our players are bad at learning new things.

Like I said I don't understand it. I don't think it's the players learning new things I feel it's the players need to do the little things better on the PK. Pursuing the puck, blocking shots, playing a better box, and finally better in front of the net as far as taking the man.

I imagine they break down a whole heck of a lot of video - Wilson and his assistants were known for their use of technology before they got to the Leafs, and there have been articles on it since.

One thing about being consigned to the radio: you get to hear Denis Potvin fill time with Jim Ralph boasting about winning 19 consecutive playoff series and how great he felt in '88 even though he retired at the end of the year.

Aside from the breakaway I thought the first pk showed promise, the forwards were really working and switching high pressure and clogging lanes, it looked a little different to me.

Which one of the new assistant coaches is responsible for the pk or defensive assignments these days?

I wonder what they are watching.

Ugly goal by Gustavsson but I feel for him.  This whole period has been the Leafs turning the puck over and he has made a bunch of saves and that play doesn't happen if Lombardi just moves the puck up the ice instead of casually skating when he's exhausted.

Dexter, judging by RW's tweets....
