Hey Sucker, what's your take on Alfie?  Does he have anything left?  If you guys go down the tubes would they trade him at the deadline, as the talking heads suggested?

Honestly, not much.  He's acceptable on the second line and still good on the PP, but his age is showing.

He's not getting a ton back in trade, and his value lies more in intangibles than points.

Thanks.  That's about what I think except I think a team that needs a vet and thinks it's got a push for the Cup might give back more than you think.

That glove save was superb right there from Scrivens. He seems to be a bit scrambly and not exactly confidence enducing but he gets stuff done so far this season for the most part

Like Hasek, doesn't look right...but it works.

Not saying Scrivens is Hasek.

Well, that diving poke check was very Hasek too...

For the record Hasek earned his first SO at the age of 27, Ben is only 26  8)

Perhaps, if there's a couple young teams in the playoff picture.  I think I'd be happy with a 2nd or 3rd.

I know they won 3-0 and all but I never want to see Orr play 13 min in a game ever again.

I mean in large part I agree, but to be fair, I didn't think he was that much of a liability tonight, took the body a lot and I think that had a few Sens nervous when he was out there.

At this point I'm wondering if Liles is going to be the odd man out when Gunnarsson returns (which should be sometime this week). Holzer and Fraser have both looked solid enough these past couple of weeks to deserve to stay as long as their play keeps up. Phaneuf and Kostka aren't going anywhere. That leaves Liles and Franson, and I've been rather impressed with Franson since he's been paired with Fraser. Gunnarsson coming in also creates a logjam on the left side, so Liles is at a disadvantage there as well.

Personally I'd like to see Kostka take a seat, he's been outplayed by the rest of the d imo.

Dion-Holzer
Franson-Fraser
Liles-Gunnar

I'd see how that goes for a little bit.

I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but I just can't see Carlyle going that way. At least not right now. Kostka is still getting the second most minutes of any defenceman, and he's not playing with Phaneuf anymore at even-strength and is even losing some of his PP1 powerplay time to Franson.

trade... Trade... TRADE !!  (maybe they could make a trade)

I'm still amazed that Montreal is 9-4-1 and first in the Northeast. That'll change once Boston plays their two games in hand, but their record is insane. When do they start to drop back down to Earth?

Kadri's line had nothing going through the neutral zone.  That is certainly not all on Orr but we didn't see that happen  this season with Frattin next to Kadri.

I guess people just really underestimate how much Markov means to that team?

Like I said, Carlyle is a conundrum.  Why he's in love with Kostka is a baffler.

Moreover, how is he going to bench Liles now?  He sealed the game tonite with a LASER.
