Game 17 - Battle of Ontario - Sens @ Leafs - Nov 12th, 2011 - 19:00 EST - 5-2 L

Gardiner and Komisarek are fucking morons. This happens all the time, what the fuck? How many times can they get split??

Don't like the way this game is headed. Leafs should be burying these guys. Pick up the pace boys. Sens are the ones playing 3 games in 4 nights.

Gardiner's skating and puck work is great and all, but, his defensive play is leaving a lot to be desired. He doesn't read the play all that well on the defensive side of the puck.

It's too much to ask a team to kill a long 5on3, but there is a fundamental problem with your team allowing a breakaway on that kind of play.  It wasn't like Gardiner and Komisarek were caught trying to jump off the ice.  They floated off to the sides of the ice and allowed Foligno to walk through the parting of the Red Sea.

On that note, why the heck is Gardiner killing penalties.  He's not good defensively.

The funny thing is that penalty would have been great if not for the D once again being too wide and letting the guy go in alone.  Seems to always be the case, unfortunately.

I'm wondering whether he and Frattin should go down.  They aren't contributing much right now.

For such a small twerp Karlsson is so good offensively it's pretty crazy.  His shot is unreal and he can control the play and pass the puck so well.  Luckily he's not that good in his own end.  Dudes going to hit 60-70 points one year for sure.

It has to be something the coaches are doing that has our D, all of them, getting beat straight up the middle time after time.  I just can't believe that they all happen to suck in exactly the same way like this

Why would you leave the middle of the ice open.  Can't hurt you along the boards. Well hopefully they have a bit of energy come 3rd period.

Yeah, that was his 15th assist already, his 9th on the PP.

I doubt any coach anywhere is going to advise his D to spread out wide and leave the middle open, especially after it has happened so many times already.

I think it has to be just a mental thing the D have to work harder at fixing - a second of letting your guard down and drifting can kill you.

And being slow enough not to recover perhaps.

Is MacArthur playing?  Or Kulemin? Be nice if Lombardi starts to pick it up.

We really need these depth guys to pick it up and support the top line.  We talked all summer about how we improved our depth and it hasn't shown at all yet.
