OK, which was better: Giroux's move or Kadri's pass?

I call it even steven.
Kadri was better, it resulted in a goal, Giroux's move was prettier, but thanfully, no goal.

As much as I love Kadri's play, had Giroux scored there, pretty sure it would be a GotY candidate.

Giroux's play was just absolutely dirty, not just the deke going outside, inside, but to pull the puck back in and try and get Scrivens after he pulled him off the post would have been incredible had that gone in.  Not just a difficulty play, but he was at his top speed while doing it.

Kadri's play is pretty much just par for the course for the guy.  He's a couple of inches and 20 pounds away from being a completely unstoppable force.  He has Sundin's ability to make plays despite having guys all over his body.

It's not every PP where the "#1" unit struggles but I really feel like the PP has been more dangerous with Kadri on the ice pretty consistently.  I really would like to see him on the ice with Kessel on the PP.  You are risking more dumps because of lost faceoffs but I think he makes up for it with his ability to make the creative plays that the Leafs seem to avoid doing with Kessel sitting on the half-boards.

The first unit from what I've seen lately are wasting too much time playing around the boards to the point. Not shooting enough and waiting for the perfect shot or pass. Dion to be quite honest seems like he has taken a bit off his shot and has been hitting the net more regularly lately. Always said it doesn't need to be cute just effective and with Bryz in net I would be firing more pucks at him.

Pretty much nails it.

Kadri also takes over the lead in team scoring with 17 points in 20 games.

Edit: and his entry level contract is up at season end too.

Ya I agree but I don't really see him filling out much more. If he can add some more muscle and weight that would be awesome. He does get knocked off the puck or knocked down quite a bit.
