Game 22: Leafs @ Islanders, 7:00PM, SN, Fan 590

Don't look now but we're tied with Chicago for most road wins in the league with 9!

Also heard that Kadri's hat trick was the 1st by a Leaf vs. the Islanders since the 1970s!

I'm not surprised they blew a third period lead, given the way they played the first. Kadri's 1st and 3rd goals were sweet. His second was a pretty brutal one for Nabokov to give up.

Just watched the Game In 6. Was Reimer as bad as the highlights showed?

He was saved by the post about 3 or 4 times, not counting a few other trickling pucks that got by him but just missed the net.  His glove hand was soft and in general his reaction time was pretty slow, but he was fairly mobile for a guy coming back from a leg injury, and I don't recall many big rebounds, so that's something.

We know he's a capable goalie, it's just a matter of how long it will take for him to warm back up to it, and how and when to lean on Scrivens in the meantime.

Kadri has 21 points in 22 games and is a +11.

Pretty solid numbers there.

And yet only 15:46 in TOI.  I don't understand.  8th most from the forwards.

and he scored 3 goals. So maybe that's the perfect amount of time for him.

No, you're a logical fallacy!

I'm not sure but I think Carlyle implied this in the post-game interview lol

Reimer struggled in most facets of the game, but the Isles were the best team for him to get those bugs out of the system.

The only goal I really had a problem with(though I didn't see the first) was the tying goal. He was down far, far too early and looked like he did when he returned last year.

The playing of the puck was my biggest concern. You need a goalie that can play the puck and unfortunately Reimer and to a lesser degree Scrivens struggle with this.

this is how reimer works..he starts slow..gets better...gets really good..then gets injured..rinse and repeat

This is what has happened twice now. Lets hope the injury part of this equation is removed.

Great game by Kadri.  Shaky game by Reimer.  Not to be concerned since it was his first game back since his minor injury.  We, the LeafsNation, have comolete faith in James!

GO LEAFS GO!!!
