Game 53: Oilers @ Maple Leafs 7:00Pm Sportsnet/am640 The duel of Hot Hands!

I knew where he came from, I didn't know the rest though. So yeah, I guess I would have to agree with you then. I hope we don't have another stoppage, that would be a disaster for the league I think.

It would be, and I think the players know that and are hoping to use it to their advantage, but, my guess is if it came down to missing another season, they'd agree to extend to current CBA for another year with the understanding that a new agreement will be reached before next summer.

Man, Franson has some great offensive instincts.  He just gave Kessel a perfect pass by slapping the puck off the boards.

He's definitely gotten over whatever problems he had earlier in the season. This is the Franson we all expected, if not even more.

Yeah, I hope Burke doesn't do something silly and trade him. I'm sure he's getting lots of calls on him.

Yeah, a stoppage hurts everybody and I don't think the fans would be as forgiving as they were this time around.

He is the cog that drives the team more then even Phil and Lupal.

He's good but, uh, no.

Well game in game out he gives a stronger more consistant effort than 81 and 19. He's certainly a key component.

I agree with the second sentence but how can you deny Lupul and Kessels influence here? I mean it's a team game but, c'mon, they've been pretty darn consistent.

The fact that it's not completely absurd to compare the competitiveness of Kessel's line with Grabovski's line speaks volumes in itself.

He has had more then a few games where he's been held off the scoresheet but grabbo's energy and never quit attitude set the tone for others. He plays a better all around game then either Lupal or Phil by and large.

I'm not knocking either of the other guys don't get me wrong but I just believe that grabbo's value to other teams is one thing but to ours as a whole it's on a completely other level.

His line makes life for the first much easier as other teams have to pick and choose their coverage wisely. God forbid both of these lines get on fire at the same time. We'd make the playoffs for sure then.

Sorry man, no offence or anything but Grabovski isn't doing what they are ( and I'm a big fan of his, probably my second favourite Leaf, fwiw )

I'm not saying that they are not key pieces I just think that grabbo's all around game is more rounded and dangerous. He plays 200 feet of hockey all night long every night. I can't think of many if any games that I have seen grabbo just coasting unlike Phil. He's been better but still needs to up his compete level to Grabbo's level imho.

Sure, no doubt but the Leafs mvp so far this year isn't Grabovski, in spite of how much importance he has to the team and the effort he gives.

I think that might be a bit of an ugly one but eh, it's one of those games I think.  Gustavsson starts next game and you move on from there.

I don't agree with that, Phil has very few instances of coasting this season, not that Mik does either but in the end the results kind of matter here.

Lupul coasting? Don't see that either.

They both def feed of each other to a degree but those bunch of guys one the second line just hustle their asses off.

With the way grabbo sets up gift wrapped goals to his linemates I see him as one of the select few players around who on a reg basis make others around them better, not just complimenting them. I guess we'll have to be happy to disagree and be even happier that in this case we both win in the end with both lines seeming to be getting their stride together at the same time.
