Yes it's not my money but it is the team i cheer for and have lived and died behind for decades.

By saying that someone who scores 50-60 pts a year isnt worth x amount of dollars is crazy. You have to take into account other things besides stats.
You have to take into consideration his two way play, his heart and desire to win, his willingness to goto the dirty areas, take hard/dirty hits and keep on going. Unless you consider all the facets of a players game you are simply never looking at the full picture.

Is what he brings to the table worth 5 mill? In two feet and a heartbeat it is.

Besides how can you not like a guy who just loves/lives to stick it to the habs?

Sure. Give him 4.5, give him 5, whatever. Doesn't mean they make the playoffs or not. He is one important piece, but they have more serious issues to address then Grabo.

True but if they don't sign him we also have yet another issue to deal with, finding someone to replace him. Got to keep the gems you have while trying to find a way to fit more into the setting. In my eyes he is a must resign guy. I wouldn't go crazy with the brinks truck but i don't have any problem  giving him 5 mill a year. Maybe even would goto 5.5 if it meant the difference between having him and not.

Grabovski is so not a 5 million dollars a year player.

It's a GDT... an we keep the trolling to a min?

FIrst game under a new coach and new system and you are going to use it to say he's not worth 5 mill? i'll give him 5 mill anyday. He's been the heart and soul of this team on so many nights it's not even funny. YOu take away his effort and his contributions and we'd not even have a whiff of the playoffs. Hell we'd be giving the hab-nots a run for cellar dwellers.

What trolling? I thought we lost an entire season of hockey so 50 pt players don't get 5 million dollars a season.

There are guys making 8 mill a year to score 10 pts.

Grabbo is worth his weight in gold or in this case 5 mill easily.

I think you are in a huge minority of people who feel that grabbo isn't worth that kind of money.

You are using Gomez to make a point? Really? Gomez had a 84 pts a year before he got his massive deal. Talk to me when Grabovski gets 84 pts.

To be fair to Grabs I think Gomez has probably had some better linemates especially early in his career when he hit his 84.  I believe he was on a line with Elias and Gionta. Gomez has got 5 years on Grabs as far as age. Could he hit 84 points? Who knows maybe not. In Grabs first 4 years he's hit 183 points. Gomez last 5 complete 235 points, last 4-165 points.

Mats Sundin hit more than 84 pts just once in his career as a Maple Leaf. Just saying.

Yeah, I'd forgotten Eakins was already a Leafs asst a few years ago.  Elliotte just said he'd been one 2 seasons.

Did Hughson just say that Grabo "smeagoled" under that hit? Or did he say "sneaked"?

You heard it right, he started that a while back.

Huh. I guess either I haven't been paying too close attention or I don't watch HNIC often enough.

Not sure if I agree with that call, but found it peculiar that Gus went down so easily.

He knows how to sell it, the other night looked worse than it was also. He's actually quite good at it. I agree with him also, because the goalies need to be off limits.

Kessel and lupul need to be the top forwards in ice time.

I don't expect Kessel to be smashing guys in the boards but man there's times he can win a battle for the puck and he waits for his teammates to go in there and get it. He's not the biggest guy but man he has to show a little grit and win battles.

Kessel would be awesome in the corners if the rink were a circle.
