I really hope Auld doesn't play tomorrow...

EDIT: But if we do lose, we played our backup and it was the second half of a back-to-back.  Excuses armed and ready.

Leafs never seem to take advantage of a team coming off a back to back but themselves get man-handled on a back to back game.  Frustrates me to no end.

Was watching the Boston, Montreal game and the analysts sounded pretty confident that the winter classic next year would be Toronto at Detroit.  Honestly I am thinking of doing a road trip if that happens but I probably can't afford it.

that's a lot of money just to end up shot at

LOL!

3-3.  Let's get on a roll PLEASE.  Leafs need to sweep the next 3 games against bad teams.  That'll give 6 wins out of 10, acceptable.

Taking the 3 games against losing teams is important, but beating Pittsburg, who they'll be fighting with for a playoff spot is just as important.

True but I think Pittsburgh will be in. Last spot will come down to Leafs / Florida / Jersey in my opinion. Pick 2 of those teams.

We need to run the table for the rest of this set. If they can repeat the effort against Min...I believe it is possible. Gus is rounding out to be our #1 and we are becoming more defensively responsible. more grit, in their face hockey. goLeafsgo

they must end up this sequence with at least 6-4 record, beating Montreal and Islanders in both games is critical. If they manage to squeeze a point out of Pittsburgh it would be fantastic. Play-offs could be nearer again.

The next sequence will say a lot about this Leafs team.  They'll be 32 games left after this set of 10.  Playoff teams have to beat the teams they *should* beat to get into the playoffs.  Leafs *should* beat the Habs and Isles.  We'll see.

You gotta think Liles and Armstrong's returns will bolster the troops as well.

The beauty of these last 3 games is they happen just before the all-star break.  Usually when the Leafs go on a mini-streak of 3-4 wins, they always seem to hit a mini-slump right afterwards.  This time, the Leafs can roll into the break on a (hopefully) 4 game winning streak, and then enjoy a week off before the Pittsburgh game.  That way they MAY be ready to play that Pittsburgh game and not the inevitable "let down" game after a 4 game winning streak.  That's my plan anyway.

Just going from memory this year but I don't think the Leafs have lost more than a few games vs. teams they "should" be beating.

The recent Sabres game comes to mind but the Leafs have always had trouble in Buf for whatever reason.  Ottawa? Well right now it seams nobody can beat those Adonis's.

NYI has been playing better so they aren't going to be pushovers. Have to be very careful of them.

Nice to see some of the lower teams falling away as it wasn't long ago there were another 2-3 teams in the mix as well.

For what it's worth, I have expected Florida to be the team that is out of luck for some time now.

The Pens are starting to get it going again - not good for the rest of us!

Letang was back last night.  They will be rolling again for sure.

It also means James Neal is going to produce even more. ;)

That busted foot is going to catch up to him sooner or later. Besides, I felt bad after fleecing you for Karlsson. ;p

Alot of these teams are due for minor league call ups for injuries. NJ I think is one of these teams as is the Turds, lets see how deep these teams are down the stretch. Leafs have decent depth and this will be the time to make the move into the playoffs on the run.

Looks like we'll be sitting in the 7th or 8th seed if we can sneak in at all. The stronger teams are finally starting to pull away.

The big question is, are we one of the stronger teams that will be pulling away. if we win the next few leading up to the AS break, we may just be. if we loose more then one it will be a dog fight the rest of the way.

yes these next four will be a tell tale.

I don't know how far off we are really. Ottawa is sitting in 4th with 60 points but the Leafs have 3 games in hand. If we won all 3 that's 3 points behind Ottawa's pace.
