The issue is, for me anyway, that domi is a black hole defensively. You could also look at it that domi has 1 goal in his last 30 games, not just his last 10.

Totally agree. Said it many times, would love to see Robertson and McMann have a true 3C to see what they can do.

Where did he say expecting? He said the team as a whole were maybe hoping for an easy game and by the way the team played, he's right. He said nothing wrong imo. Maybe he should have said, who cares, it's just a game.

On one hand, at least it's not the same tired crap about "we did a lot of good things, we had a lot of chances, we played well overall..." He's just admitting what we all can see and have been seeing for years now. This team doesn't start on time, plays down to opponents, expects "easy games". Why would anything change now, the patterns are set.

By the way, he said "hoping for an easy game", maybe that's even worse than "expecting." Not good regardless.

I get not liking Domi and his season has been bad, but the reason I chose 30 days/10 games is that's about how long the line of McMan - Domi - Roberston has been solidly logether as a unit and have shown some chemistry/production where it might stick.

I don't know where these narratives comes come from because the numbers don't back them up. Sure, Domi will never be argued as a Selke finalist, and he isn't the best defensive forward but isn't absolutely terrible. What it surprise you to know the Domi and Robertson lead the Leafs in On-Ice Expected Goals Against Per 60 minutes? Now there is a lot that goes into that stat as both Domi and Robertson aren't being asked to go up against the best lines of the opposing teams but the takeaway is that they are winning the minutes they are deployed on the ice.

I remember earlier in the year on the Steve Dangle podcast where they had a live podcast and took a question from the audience. The audience member asked 'Now that Tavares sucks what are the Leafs going to do?' and Adam answered basically, I don't know the Leafs are stuck. Tavares doesn't suck and has never sucked. The idea he can't play center anymore was premature. These narratives get thrown on the Leafs and they are not always based in reality.

If you are going to have a C, have one that is willing and able to light a fire under the team when needed. It's not 91, 34, or 88, and I would guess not 16. That leaves Stolarz ha.

That line is offensively gifted but they got dominated last night against a top level team and that's what will happen in the playoffs, especially during away games if the opponent matches a top line against them.

Leafs have had a GRINDING schedule since 4 Nations and they are accumulating points.

I really feel that Domi will up his game in the playoffs. He was fine last year in the playfoffs for the Leafs. He wasn't a defensive liability.

If an opposing team wants to match their top line against the Domi line, that's fine. It means one of our top two lines will get a favourable matchup.
