Cool. Seems high though

I think you guys are all nuts. It seems low to me, especially in comparison to Kerfoot's $3.5M AAV.

I'd argue Kerfoot is priced $2m-2.5m too high, at least in the current market.

So you're saying Kerfoot is worth $1M in this market? I mean, maybe if he didn't have a dance partner? Then again I have a feeling there's gonna be quite a few guys who get boxed out because they were late to the dance. It's such a bizarro year that I do find it a bit odd that we're comparing contracts in times of normalcy to contracts signed now.

You bring up a good point, we are being stupid comparing what guys signed for before as opposed to after covid.

I'm just thinking comparing Kerfoot to what guys like Derek Grant, Lucas Wallmark, Johan Larsson, Kyle Turris got int free agency this year would peg Kerfoot more in the $1-$1.5m range.

I don't think you'd have a chance at signing a young 40 point C to a 1 million dollar deal in this market. The question is whether Kerfoot is more that or if he's a 30 point sort of guy.

Kerfoot has more offensive upside than Grant, Wallmark, Larsson; we're talking 30-40 pts vs 10-25 pts and older. The latter two were options I would've liked as 3Cs in shutdown/PK specialist roles. The broken jaw against LA did him none too many favours down the stretch trying to get back to playing weight/strength.
