Throwing beers on ice isn't assault. Booing isn't assault or harassment. When one doesn't get what they paid for, they voice their dissatisfaction. When I buy a product and it doesn't live up to my expectations I return it or get it exchanged.
Don't know why you are so adamant fans don't show their displeasure. Don't you understand our frustrations? 10 years and one playoff appearance (that too in a shortened season). Think about that. This in a city that is the centre of the hockey world.
I remember a time when Bruins fans would throw beer bottles at opposing players during the era of brutal hockey. Boston fans have always been known to be a tough breed.
I would not want our fans to ever become like that, certainly not at the opposition nor against our players. Throwing waffles is one thing, but throwing beer bottle or cans or any hard sharp object is both dangerous and a no-no.
I can understand the frustration, heck, I've followed the Leafs from my earliest youngest days. While I haven't been a paying customer, I've experienced, at times, the same frustration as a paying customer would. Of course, I didn't throw anything at the t.v.
