This freaking League.

Sure, but the Coyotes leave him in the AHL and they're the jerks who are essentially choosing not to let Scott go to the game. They trade him and nobody is a jerk because he can't very well represent a team he doesn't play for.

This article: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/coyotes-gm-considered-waiting-on-scott-trade-until-after-all-star-game/ ?
It only says that Maloney considered waiting until after the ASG, not that the NHL wanted him to.
Maloney admitted he considered waiting three more weeks to make the Jarred Tinordi deal, and, after two more days of research, my belief is that?s what the NHL wished he would have done.
But they couldn?t force him not to act.

Oh, sorry, to me you (unintentionally I'm sure) made it seem that like that was days old information when it was just published an hour ago.
Anyway, I think you can understand that anybody who thought the league played any role in this wouldn't exactly 100% trust Elliotte's source on that considering it's likely people from the league.
Potvin29 said:It's as definitive (and I'd say much more so since I think Friedman's word holds a lot of weight) as anyone else who has assumed the NHL stepped in and did something.
