Leafs 2012/2013 Schedule in 10 game chunks

I think we go 7-3. I like the road start, and think that gives us a jump. And there is no way Kessel goes without goals.

I predicted the Leafs record after the first block would be 4-5-1 for 9 pts, they went 5-5-0 for 10pts. In other words, they slightly exceeded my expectations. Which is a good sign.

Hm, let?s see games 11 to 20:

Thu, Feb 7@Winnipeg, W
Sat, Feb 9@Montreal, L
Mon, Feb 11vs. Philadelphia, W
Thu, Feb 14@Carolina, L
Sat, Feb 16vs. Ottawa, W
Mon, Feb 18@Florida, W
Tue, Feb 19@Tampa Bay, L
Thu, Feb 21vs. Buffalo, W
Sat, Feb 23@Ottawa, L
Mon, Feb 25@Philadelphia, OTL

5-4-1 for 11 pts

If the Leafs exceed my expectation by 1 point again, hockey action in late April may seem as distinct possibility.

We are talking shorthanded season, all the games are of critical importance.

Well, considering the Leafs' last regular season game is April 27th . . .

I'll take a stab:

Mon, Feb 11vs. Philadelphia W
Thu, Feb 14@Carolina L
Sat, Feb 16vs. Ottawa W
Mon, Feb 18@Florida W
Tue, Feb 19@Tampa Bay L
Thu, Feb 21vs. Buffalo W
Sat, Feb 23@Ottawa L
Mon, Feb 25@Philadelphia W

6-4

Thu, Feb 7@Winnipeg W
Sat, Feb 9@Montreal W
Mon, Feb 11vs. Philadelphia L
Thu, Feb 14@Carolina W
Sat, Feb 16vs. Ottawa W
Mon, Feb 18@Florida L
Tue, Feb 19@Tampa Bay W
Thu, Feb 21vs. Buffalo L
Sat, Feb 23@Ottawa L
Mon, Feb 25@Philadelphia W

why not?

Thu, Feb 7@Winnipeg W (W 3-2)
Sat, Feb 9@Montreal OTL (W 6-0)
Mon, Feb 11vs. Philadelphia W (W 5-2)
Thu, Feb 14@Carolina L (L 1-3)

That almost looks like a possable 10 and 0

You're off the rails now nutman.  :D  Let's see how Scrivens does in his first post-Reimer-injury start before we go calling this an incredible run.

Ok I will stay with my 7-3 but you never know. and snoop, everyone said Philly would do us in. Allthough I do think car is a big test.

Philly was/is a mess though.

Carolina has a lot of big guns up front, albeit we do have the upper hand on defense.

No excuse not to beat Ottawa in both games though, now that they're missing Spezza. Should be good ones

For some reason I am starting to believe the boys in blue are for real. Carolina will be a good test, if we do to them what we have done to the Habs, and Philly, people will start to jump on the banwaggon in mass.

Starting?

Tampa's offence is the best in the league right now - and by a fairly significant margin, almost half a goal per game. They're definitely going to be a challenge, especially considering Stamkos, Lecavalier and St Louis tend to bring their A games when they face the Leafs. Buffalo is always a tough opponent for the Leafs, no matter how they're playing. Ottawa has the best goaltending in the league this season. This is a much tougher stretch of games than it may appear.
