6 games to go before the break and 4 of the 6 are against Tampa and Florida. I'm hoping for at least a 4-2 won/loss record in those 6 games.
Just looking at the chunk, that would give the Leafs a 6-3-1 record over the 10 game stretch, I'll take that any day of the week.

You do know Tampa has 7 more points and 7 more regulation/OT wins than the Leafs in 2 fewer games right?

But we have not played them yet this year. There is nothing saying we beat them all five times or lose all five times.

Sneak preview of the 6th chunk which takes us to the Olympic break. Starts with a 4 game road trip. I'd try to analyze the schedule "good" or "bad" but really at this point, the Leafs can't seem to beat anybody so it's all bad.
It wouldn't surprise me if they were to find a way out of this mess, particularly in that 6th set. Of course the odds are against it happening, but if they do start winning again, and with Bolland coming back, hopefully after the break, things may start looking up again. Gotta stay optimistic, or what.....completely give up hope? I'm not turning in the towel just yet. I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm still hoping they can salvage this season.

This, when everybody was predicting gloom and doom...
I know it's not cool to quote yourself, but hey, what the hell...

Looking back on it, it was a good call. You were the voice of reason in a sea of yelling and shouting for "FIRE CARLYLE!!" Even I was onboard the fire Carlyle train. LOL

I'm sure there'll be more 'Fire Carlyle' chants during their next 3-4 game losing streak. This team still has a ways to go, and I don't believe they're just going to stroll right into a playoff spot. They'll have to work hard the rest of the season for it to happen, IMO.

The sky is falling again.
Kessel was daydreaming about the Olympics last night. I expect that to continue tomorrow and Saturday night. His mind just isn't into the game with the world stage so close at hand.
Someone else will need to pick up the slack for the remaining two.
The best we can hope for is one more win before the break.

This is already the Leafs 2nd best chunk of the entire season. If they win tomorrow night it'll be the best chunk at 7-2-1. Great time for this run.
