4 sets of back to back in a 10-game stretch?  I know it's an Olympic year and everything, but holy.

Yeah, I didn't notice that before. Good thing we have two pretty good goalies.

Yep, this is where the strength in goal can show through...always have a guy in there who's fresh and gives you a chance to win.

edit: And it looks like we have 16 back-to-back games all season long so that's half of them right there.

16 sets of back to back games. So, 1/4.

I just took the figure from a chart I found and assumed it was total games. If it's sets that's pretty insane. New Jersey then for instance plays over half their season on back to backs.

Also, we should have guys like Clarkson, Kulemin, and Frasier back in the lineup by then.  Hopefully.

Yay Olympics!

Also, of the Leafs 16 sets of back to back nights, not a single one has them playing both at home. It's either both on the road, or one on the road and one at home.

Looks like a tough schedule ahead for the Leafs.  This will test the team's mettle.  Having the injured return plus the asset of two good goaltenders should provide ample strength during this stretch.

Look at all that green!

I originally said the Leafs had to survive the first 10 games without Clarkson, and I was hoping for 5-6 wins, damn but we have 6 already.

yup..worst they could do now without clarkson is 6-4-0  that seems pretty good given the other players also missing from the lineup.  Anyway hopefully some bodies start coming back.

I see a pattern, I don't mind 1 loss every 4 games, I can deal with that the entire season.

They will be hard pressed to keep that pattern going with the Chicago game coming up tomorrow night. But, as poorly and uninterested as the leafs looked last night against the Canes, Carolina was lucky to pull out that win.

I like what we've seen so far with this team in general. They seem to be able to match any opponents style, and the offence has been good enough to offset any weakness on the back end.

Let's hope the injuries stop, we get back the players on the IR soon, and Clarkson comes as advertised.

Really worried about that Chicago game.  I hope the Leafs don't get embarrassed.

I think the team will look a lot better with Kulimen, Clarkson and JVR back in the fold. We  have done pretty well without them (except last nights fiasco), but we do need them and soon.

When is Kulemin due back?  JVR is day to day and we know when Clarkson plays.

He's still wearing a protective boot - I don't think that the Leafs have given him a timeline for a while. Report yesterday said he might start skating soon - I don't think we'll see him for another few weeks but that's just a guess.

Yeah not sure if it will work miracles for possession but I look at how those guys were slated to be spread across the top 3 lines and they are pretty much the biggest/grittiest players on each of those lines.  Forward group is pretty soft without them (and the subs that bring size like Broll are a huge skill dropoff).

He's not eligible to return from LTIR until the 29th. If he starts skating early next week (which seems to be the timeline), he should be good to go right around then.

Best case 7-3, worst case 6-4.  6 wins out of 10 games is good by anyone's measure, I guess it would just feel disappointing considering the team started 6-1.  Hopefully they can end off this first chunk with a win and go 7-3.
