His comment today to the media bugged me, about how Toronto is talking about winning the Stanley Cup now that they've won 5 straight.

No, not a single person is saying that.

He seriously sounded like a poster from HFBoards.

Yeah, rat boy Pat Roy needs to shut his donut hole. Can't stand that guy!

I looked at the boxscore midway through the first and saw the Leafs leading 1-0 and the shots were 11-2 Avs and thought "doom, gloom".

I came back a few minutes ago and it is now 4-0 and the shots are 16 apiece. :o

The stuff these guys are able to do in spite of their coach, I tell ya.

14 points in 7 games puts Kessel back at the PPG mark. Is that elite?

He needs to do more things that are completely outside of his game and entirely unnecessary for him. ;D

Now now, lads ... piling on is bad form you know.

Yeah, but he still interviews like a potato.

He interviews like a typical athlete - giving canned answers to predictable questions. On the very rare occasion he gets caught off guard by an actually interesting question, he generally answers them with some personality.

In fact is Blake or Clarksons the worse contract?

Clarkson. At least Blake produced offensively.

That and the fact that Blake looked like had something called skill.

But, but... Clarkson has intangibles

And a longer, more expensive contract.

Blake had 141 points in 216 games. That's better than I thought. He seemed to take a lot of flak back then. I suspect Clarkson won't get near to those totals

I suspect he'll play more than 216 games . . . :P

Ron Wilson was one thing but I'm not sure I can take a revisionist, pro-Jason Blake revival.

For all the good that the Leafs have somehow magically accomplished in this game without Clarkson, I've seen the Avs consistently take runs at the water bottle. Yeah it's a 4 goal lead but you can bet seeing that bottle take a beating is really pumping up the Avs. If the Leafs don't address this they're going to be facing a pumped up and considerably more hydrated team for the rest of the game.

No.  I'm a connoisseur of vacuity, and in that department Phil is definitely elite.  Not that it matters.

From conversations I've had with someone who has actually interviewed him, I'm confident in my assertion.
