Leafs @ Capitals - Mar. 16th, 3:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Reimer is playing like Reimer, Phaneuf has been playing his usual terrible defence, and Randy has decided that Clarkson deserves another chance on the second line. Pretty much sums up this one. It's over.

Our best line-up the past while by far was when Holland was centering a third line with Clarkson and Raymond, with Kulemin on the second line.  We play it for a few games, it works, and then Randy changes things up for no reason at all.

I truly don't understand it.

PK is insanely passive.

Passive isn't strong enough a word. As I said earlier, they're basically letting the Capitals do whatever they want, as long as they don't try to pass the puck to Ovechkin.

+1

Carlyle does really stupid things sometimes. Holland should be used way more, he's almost as good as kadri.

Yet up til this game it was much improved in recent games.  But I agree with you, it's stupid to play that way unless you have a Brodeur in his prime back there.

Classic standing diamond with every possible lane wide-open.  The Caps can basically decide how they want to score, with no pressure from the Leafs whatsoever.

It was so evident on that 3rd goal.  One player watching Ovechkin while the 3 other players stood there and watched a pass come to the middle then back to the half-wall, then down low.  Just stood there, no one pressured the puck-carrier.

Even the teams that are low in SF/SA tend to outshoot the Leafs badly too.

It's almost mind boggling. I get that they don't have great defensive talent on the roster, but, they're not this bad.
