The Caps could be at the start of a really long lean spell by the looks of things. Some real top end talent to keep them mediocre

To be fair they're running up on 10 or so years since Ovie-Backstrom got together. That's a pretty fair run for any contending team.

Yeah they've had a good run but they'll need to be careful and possibly think about trying to move on the likes of Oshie and his 8 year contract or else be stuck as too good to get top end first-round draft talent to rebuild with

Which brings up an always interesting question. Everybody wants to be the Blackhawks, but if that wasn't an option would you rather be the Carolina Hurricanes (win a Cup and then fade into obscurity for 9 years) or the Capitals (no Cup but consistently an elite team for 10 years).

Hey Nik I just conceded to you in the AM thread.  No time this year for bad-tempered posting.  I am high on our Beautiful Leafs.

I'm enjoying the hope and positivity of potentially winning and could get used to it

I'd probably take that cup, though

I read that. You are very much misreading my mood.

Seems to me Hainsey is playing a good game tonight.

Advanced stats will probably prove me wrong ;D
