Sorry for your loss, Highlander
Thanks Herman, my Mom was old, it was expected, but I was estranged from my friend for many years because of his wife. I was going to reach out to him and let him know about my Mom, she was a huge part of his life. Only to find out his wife and kids did not reach out when they knew he was dieing of cancer. Its beyond the pale. Sorry I am hurting big time, as much as we love this crazy hockey team there is a lot more that matters.
Absolutely Highlander. Again sorry for your loss.

Well, they played exactly one good period in California ? this one.  But not enough.

1 point against 3 lowly teams.  They don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Dominated the third.  Ducks scored on their only chance.  Carry it into the next one

I know this game started slightly earlier but I'm still disappointed to not get a ZBBM roll call post since I was around tonight.

Honestly, for all their talent I hate this collection of players.  Marner for some reason, particularly, I would be pleased to see him gone for defensive help.  Give away machine, selfish, loafer.

One period?  Not good enough mate.

I decided it was bad luck so I didn't do it.  What a fool I am.

I don't agree with that, but they haven't jelled into a consistent top 2 lines.  It hasn't helped that Tavares seems just like what Ray said tonight ? laboring all the time.  And Marner is  ... well his numbers are OK but he used to look magical on many nights.  Now he looks unhappy and sloppy a lot of the time.  I mean, this game he wasn't much better than in the infamous dogpoop game last month.

Matthews also had his worst outing in a long time.  Everyone has off nights, of course.

Well, after staying up late repeatedly to watch all of these horrible games, the good news is that we lose an hour of sleep this weekend.

Honestly it feels like Marner shoots too much on the PP already.  His play this year has been pretty damn bad.  I?m not going to turn on a guy in Year one of a deal but if you want to hardline negotiate to a massive contract you damn well better perform.

This team is trying really hard to be unlikable.  Dubas has a lot of work to do in the offseason

Marner has 65 points in 58 games played and suddenly people want to see him traded? People are right about Leaf fans.
Depends for who. Would you trade him 1 for 1 for Eichel?

LOL If you had Eichel, would you? That's not my point and you know it.

What's your point then? You seem to suggest it's crazy to entertain trading Marner and I say nobody is untouchable if you get the right player back. I care less about the players now than I did when I was younger, I just want the team to win a Cup. If that includes Mitch great, he helped , if not I'm just as happy to be Bob Shmelcko life the Cup for the Leafs. As long as a trade makes sense I'm all for it.

Marner is scoring at a 1.12 ppg game pace, and there's Leaf fans saying they detest him and they'd move him for defensive help. You're taking a ppg player off the roster for defensive help? What defensive help? Unless you're getting a #1 defensemen, around the same age, you're not moving Marner for defensive help. At least I wouldn't be.

People need to stop living and dying with this team on a nightly basis. It's obnoxious.

Winner right there. I say this all the time, It's only hockey/entertainment. People take this stuff way too serious. Just have fun with it, win or lose. You're not getting a ring if the Leafs win the cup. You get Nothing.

Matthews was just as bad if not worse than Marner with the giveaways tonight.
I felt the same thing. Either they're sloppy or worn out or something, it's really odd to see. Also weird that Pit had the same problem on their road trip too.

For sure, and it's a lot more enjoyable here when people don't lose their minds and sound like sociopaths after a losing streak *cough lc9 *cough.

Agreed. I mean it's one of those hypotheticals that has no basis in reality like would your trade x + y + z for McDavid? Like sure, but it's not going to happen so why are we entertaining this? I would trade Marner for an upgrade but generally a 1 to 1 trade like that won't happen. If it was for a stud D though... I think that sounds a bit more realistic but still unlikely until another couple years into the contract.
