Why are we letting Smith play on the 4th line, he will never be an NHL player in the longer run. Give Carrick or McKegg or one of the kids some time up with the big club.

Because Carrick did not look ready when he was up and McKegg is not really a 4th line centre type. Let them develop in the AHL.

Makes sense, why erode their confidence and ruin them for life? Please order me a Double Vodka  Latte with Valium to go.  Thanks

So I watched the Marlies game earlier. Mainly to see how Nylander looked. He set up one goal, showed a lot of flashes of his skill with some moves reminiscent of Kadri I guess, and even took a few hits and got right back up.

Marlies went 2-0 up, Utica Comets got it back to 2-2 then it went to OT where the Marlies were cycling the puck for a good while with McKegg and Nylander before giving up a 3 on 1 that ended the game with an OT loss.

A few other guys caught the eye though.

-Bibeau looked very promising in goal and made a couple of top saves. Has a very good glove but let in one softish one.
-Connor Brown set up a really nice goal for Bodie, great pass in the first, and was my MotM probably. Was at the centre of a lot of the Marlies best moments.
-Loov looked very solid and threw a couple of big big hits.
-Colton Orr formed part of a pretty effective fourth energy line  with Bodie and Biggs I think .
-Leivo and Ashton were much much more effective at this level, which probably helps to show the big gap between AHL and NHL.

I wonder if Loov and Brown might be worth call ups after the trade deadline

Jim, that "peleton" has gone off the road and down the side of a cliff.  Welcome to the Tour de Crap.

This may be the worst Leafs team of my hockey watching career.

Actually. There's no "may" about it

As things stand, the Devils are climbing to within a point of the Leafs having played a game less (2-0 up against Florida) and Columbus have 3 games less played.

If both team can get past that's Leafs into the bottom 5!

Kadri open and slamming his stick for a pass.  Clarkson with the puck just holds on to it until he loses it.

New Jersey is up 2-0 at least.

This is actually reasonably interesting hockey.

Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong, I'm in full support of tank and want almost all of these guys moved, but compared to Carlyle hockey, this isn't looking nearly as pathetic and infuriating - at least, not so far.
