Leafs @ Flyers - Jan. 31st, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

So they went from alternating being equal parts brilliant and terrible to just always being awful (but looking good where it matters in terms of corsi).

At least now they're learning how to lose in the proper fashion....

31 more games like this folks....

So what you're saying is 31 games to Connor McDavid?

It could be a movie.

"31 Dark McDavid"

Wasn't that movie Zero Dark 30 a reference to the Leafs?  0 Goals. The darkest day in Leafs history. 30 Games Left.

Polak is more mobile than you'd think.

It helps when the announcers keep saying Polak's name when Rielly is carrying the puck ;)

But yeah his skating is good for a big guy. He was advertised as that when he came here too.

How were they equal parts brilliant and terrible?  You think the Leafs were 'brilliant' half the time this season under Carlyle?

As the second highest scoring team for roughly half the season? Sure.

Looks like Lupul's knee may be bothering him. Acknowledged this morning that he wasn't 100%. Testing it out during TV break.

Yeah, good idea to have a guy like Lupul playing injured. Nothing could possib-lie go wrong.

They had an unsustainably high SH% just as they have an unsustainably low SH%.  That's ignoring the fact that being the league's highest scoring team but barely holding onto a playoff spot means they were pretty far from being 'brilliant.'  We saw it last year when they had a high SH% through the first part of the season and it dropped in the latter half and they struggled.

Hard to be a fan right now. Can't even complain about sucking anymore as it is just a known fact. Not a lot of emotion out there, just moppy faces. They're are all just waiting for the axe to fall. No one cares out there.

They all know the season if finished.

I think what we're starting to see is a group of players that know they're about to be broken up, so they're all nervous about that. There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding this team, and that impacts their play.
