They look great when the puck luck is going their way, or when all the little cutesy plays are working - then the lack of sustained pressure doesn't matter so much. But for large stretches of the past year, they've really looked quite mediocre overall and have relied way too much on Andersen.Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:Arn said:There definitely seems to be something not quite right with the Leafs. It looks like a lack of confidence but I think it?s something more than that. It?s like they?re unfamiliar with one another or not quite sure what it is they?re meant to be doing.
You know, they look like they've always looked: way less dangerous, way less dominant than you think they should be. When you've tried a bunch of other things, what's left? A couple more weeks drifting like this and I'm not sure Dubas will be able to withstand the pressure.

Once Tavares, Hyman and Muzzin are back (assuming no other major injuries), the clock will start ticking.

I don?t get to watch as much as I used to but yeah it seems to me that they?re still playing the rush game they were playing maybe 2 seasons ago. It was working then cos they were kind of underrated or under the radar. Now that that style has been worked out and countered if it doesn?t work they don?t have a plan b or plan c or any way to shake things up.
Edit to add also: back then they were pretty exciting to watch. Right now... they?re kind of a bit boring
