Don't take your best players off the ice.  Carlye needs to have a longer leash.

Here I disagree.  I suspect he's setting a tone of responsible play right off the bat in the season.  He knows Kadri's not short of self-esteem.  It might be just what's needed.

I cannot fathom his decisions quite often. The only hope I have is he's trying to send a message. And maybe that message could be that he's a really poor in-game coach.

The Leafs have to find a way to get the puck through to the net.  It don't matter how open they are they find the body of an opposing player.

The PK struggled to get the puck out there, but they got it done.

Still only 1-0,  but the Leafs have been thoroughly outplayed.  I disagree with many of Carlye's in game moves.  Maybe we will come out and dominate the 3rd, what do I know?

GOAL Kessel, that's a nice 26th bday gift.  Phaneuf made a nice play too.

Good play by Kadri to get to the net and create traffic.

Low and behold - give him a rest and he plays better. This isn't a new theme - he's always played better around 22 mins a night. Randy has to open his eyes.

Happy Birthday KesselBear!

So thankful we don't have to deal with a prolonged goal-scoring drought to start the season for Kessel.

and for the record, it sucks typing with no 'a' key on my keyboard.

I think Kessel's looked pretty good so far these first two. I worry about the efficiency of the power-play when it's seemingly using him as the chief playmaker and scoring option but he's looked consistently dangerous regardless.
