Leafs @ Jets - Jan. 3rd, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Got a feeling this could be the end for Ashton. Think he'll be waived before the next game and someone else called up.

What the hell are these guys going on about? There is a hockey game on. They should all be fired. Cbc is for losers I guess
Talk about Chicago for 5 minutes.  Start talking about Boston.  Pretty much everything BUT the game.  Mind you, I wouldn't want to commentate on the game either.
If I am watching it they should have to at least talk about it.  ;D
Truthfully though this year CBC is the worst it's been in the 30 years I have watched. I have no idea how Healey is employed? He offers no insight and his witty retorts are really quite terrible. As a Scotsman I cringe at all the haggis and bagpipe bs he spouts off. Hell he wasn't even born in the country and certainly didn't opt to play for the uk in the Olympics so f... ..f with that crap.

Good for him. Hopefully he catches on with a real team.

None too soon.  I never got all the defenders.  That guy has nothing.

Ralph caps his radio commentary with the observation that the Leafs are barely hanging onto a wildcard spot, and, "The basement has risen in the East."  That was surreal.

Okay.. It was at least 3 minutes of game time while the puck is in play and the commentators didn't call anything that was happening on ice until there was a goal.

I've got plenty to criticize about the direction in which Rogers has taken the HNIC broadcast.

In this case though, the Leafs have obviously packed it in early. A bit of push back from the opponent and poor us. I'm finding it more entertaining to hear the commentators bullshit amongst each other, than to actually watch the game.

That nice little streak the Leafs had was fun while the pressure was off. From this point on, pressure only increases and contenders get separated from pretenders. And, that's exactly what I'd call the Leafs-pretenders. There is some skill on the team but it doesn't translate into anything resembling a team that can make the playoffs, let alone do anything once there.

Maybe the difference this year, is the collapse is happening earlier. I guess there's still time for the Leafs to pull out of the downward spiral. What I really hope happens is, major change starts at the trade deadline and continues into the offseason.
