Leafs @ Lightning - Mar. 16th, 7:30pm - SNO, TSN 1050

What a difference having your shooters on the shooting side makes on the PP.

That was a wicked wrister by Nylander to generate the rebound.

Leafs benefitting from a timely flubbo performance from the opp-goaler.

You still have to be generating shots to take advantage of flubbs, and the Leafs are doing a decent job of that. i.e. more Gardiner, pls.

Yes, they are playing much better than 2 nites ago, esp. on D.  Still, no matter how wicked Willie's wrister was, Vasilevskiy gave up a pretty inexcusably fat rebound to make that last one possible.

HAHA Martin with the focus.

Hunwick is due now. I bet Hyman gets an empty netter.

Hopefully this game doesn't end up in a position where Tampa pulls the goalie.

My Hyman-EN goal dream is fading... but it's still a sub-8 goal lead still, so I'm still worried.

Here's something that Steve Simmons can mention about Matthews: he has the discipline to stop in front of the net on rush plays, instead of curling behind the net and taking himself out of the play.

Nylander was shooting for a rebound into Matthews' stick.

Vasilevskiy's taking the heat for that 4th goal, but it was 3-on-3 in front of the net and not a single Tampa player seemed to be doing anything to stop a Leaf player from doing whatever they wanted.

Retrocasting.

Check out the Heat Map to see how heavily they are leaning on the point shot from the right side tonight for rebounds. Usually the Leafs don't use the point shot, and when they do, it's from the left.

Edit: Millen mentioning this now

I was honestly going to post something like "Tampa looked very Leafs-like" there originally but decided to go with the more subtle approach.

Andersen with the perfect read on Palat's one timer. Kucherov probably would've had it though.
