Just got in and I'm like:

You're a black lady, and, you fainted?

Well, they're going to come out of this run of 5 games against teams below them with 8 of 10 points.  Pretty darn good.

Matthews all over the puck on both sides of the ice on his latest shift.

He's really looked like he's trying to skate around the entire defense. He definitely knows he hasn't scored in a while.

I guess he knows about POS' Hyman tweets.
Matthews just got some 4-on-4 time with Marner and draws a PP to ice the game.

5-2 Oil 2nd period. Isles lose, Leafs in 2nd wild card with a game in hand.
If Boston loses 4 back of them with 2 games in hand.

Green gear on Saturday and the showdown on Monday ;)

What a terrific game by all of the Leafs (when they all collectively had such a poor game against the Panthers).

Regrettably I was at the Panthers-Leafs game and it was quite exciting for the first 17 seconds, but then....).  As usual there were many Leaf fans at the rink and they were hoping to cheer anything, so it was a pretty quiet night.

Polak was really solid and in fact was named the third star on the Lightning telecast tonight.  And it is so good to see Andersen come back after a bad first period against the Panthers.  And Reilly had a solid game (2nd star tonight), which may auger well for his confidence level at least.

The Tampa Bay telecast was somewhat interesting as they stated, in effect:

Andersen was told by the Leafs to change his style at the start of the season but then decided after the first 5 games to play less aggressively which helped him.

Stamkos was practising earlier today, and saw Babcock in the stands and made a point about going to Babcock and telling him what a terrific teammate Boyle was.

The Tampa players were obviously disappointed about giving up several of their players at the trade deadline so they were going to make a point about playing as well as they could to show their management.

(This might be subject to some of the fake news that we have been getting in Florida this winter however,,,).

(But at least I didn't have to listen to Millen state, for perhaps the 23rd time in a game, that the goalie made an enormous/fantastic/incredible/unbelievable save on a wrist shot from the face-off circle).
