Can anyone explain why 'super scout' Craig Button thinks the Leafs will have to expose Connor Carrick in expansion draft?  Zaitsev doesn't have to be protected since he is rookie.

Steel wool and pomade leaching.

Montreal 3 - Florida 0 - If this stays the same, Florida can no longer catch the Leafs
Columbus 1 - Carolina 0 - Magic number is currently 9 to eliminate the Hurricanes
Philly 5 - NYI 1 - Magic number is currently 9 to eliminate the Islanders
Tampa 2 - Detroit 1 - Stupid Dead Wings
Boston 2 - Dallas 0 - Sigh
Ottawa 1 - Minnesota 1 - Magic number is 10 for the Senators to clinch home ice against the Leafs

Martin lays a clean hit and draws a penalty. Sounds like the start of getting under the Preds' skin.

Did Kadri tip that before it went to JVR for the tip?  If not Marner just set the new assist record at 41.

Why doesn't he do this more often?

I can't tell at this resolution, but it sure does seem like it, which makes JvR's tip even crazier.

As things stand right now, it's Marner's record.

I think that's going to change but now is a good time to remind everyone that Kadri led the team with 45 points last year.  Marner has a shot of matching that in assists.

6 players are well past that mark this season. Also, a couple multi-goal games the rest of the way, and Matthews almost reaches it in goals. The offence has done a complete 180.

Maybe they hold Rielly's number as the high water mark. *crossing fingers
Until Shattenkirk, I guess.

198 goals for - 246 goals against
231 goals for - 221 goals against

Likely to end with 40+ goals for change and 15 fewer goals against give or take.

Zaitsev for 7 ... any raised eyebrows among us?

It's certainly longer than I thought it'd be but at a reasonable dollar figure and not much movement protection...sure, why not?

Kapanen was going on the rush... not used to someone on the Leafs having the puck when fights requests happen.

And with so much of it coming from the Rookies now is where it's important to note the distinction between what the Leafs did and what the Oilers did. What happened last year with the Leafs was a strategy.
