Reimer still out there?

Reimer hasn't been good, but, when everyone's bad, no sense in singling him out by pulling him. He's getting punished by being forced to play the rest of this one.

Yeah, I'm all for protecting/sharing the pain for your goaltender if it is the team in front of him at fault for everything, but Reimer has been bad today.  He was a big part of the first two goals and two more have been goals directly due to his inability to find and control his rebounds.  I don't mind that Reimer gives up rebounds because for the most part he can play them well but when he has off games he's really at risk of these types of efforts.  No point exposing Bernier to this disaster too.

I wonder if anyone on this board would actually miss Phaneuf if we traded him.  Seriously ... does anyone here like him that much?

Phaneuf better have a groin injury because his gliding around on the ice is really painful to watch right now.

As much as I didn't care for Liewenke and like I said before did nothing to improve this team he just may be the smartest leaving this ongoing F'n mess.

In general, I think he's much better than he gets credit for from a lot of people on this board, so, yeah, I think his absence would definitely be noticed. He has been bad tonight, though, but, so has pretty much everyone else.

I don't think he's even tradeable. Don't think anyone would take him unless the Leafs ate a chunk of that ridiculous deal.

OK.  I appreciate your serious response.  I was wondering whether everyone was just sort of tolerating him.

You might be right.  That's a separate question, though.

well this totally sucks!! let's destroy boston, play ok against Pitts, but completely suck against the league's worst team?

Maybe its the Leafs message to Buffalo, hey dont count us out!

Phaneuf plays against the best players in the NHL every night.

The best players in the NHL are the best players because they routinely make opposition defenders(note other teams top defenders too) look terrible.

If Dion Phaneuf was as bad as some here think then he'd be torched every single night, truth is he shuts the best players in the league down almost nightly.

Without Phaneuf, someone else has to play against the leagues best and we have nobody capable of doing that the way Dion does.

All of that being said, he has been horrific tonight and deserves every criticism aimed at him.

Those who claim he is 'woeful' I'm sorry, but you show a complete lack of understanding of pro hockey and the responsibilities and results of all top pairing dmen
