Right now we're in the last playoff spot so we need this win.

Tied for the last guaranteed spot in our division (3rd) but still 6th in the conference. Hopefully you're not foreshadowing what we'll all be saying next week...

I see it this way:

Atlantic
Boston 34
Tampa 33
Detroit 31

Metro
Pitt    33
NYR    26
Wash  26

Those 6 are guaranteed
then 2 wildcards

Montreal and Toronto tied with 30 points but MTL has 13 ROW which is the first tie breaker.

Yes the next closet team is Carolina at 25 points so we do have some breathing room.

I haven't seen this reported anywhere else, but according to MapleLeafs.com both Holland and Smith will be sitting tonight. They have the projected line-up as:

JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Raymond-Kadri-Clarkson
Ashton-McClement-Kulemin
Orr-Smithson-McLaren

Gunnarsson-Phaneuf
Fraser-Franson
Gardiner-Ranger

Reimer

You can't beat a winning record however Carlyle is starting to piss me off big time, Orr and Mclaren and Frazer. The big three. Losers.
How bout Levio, Rielly and Holland, young guys with some skill sets

Yup, it's a head scratcher all right. And another instance of Carlyle liking Ashton enough to play him on the 3rd line when he's in the line-up but not enough to play him on the 4th line when we're healthy.

As long McClement is 3rd line center (and to a lesser extent Ashton on the 3rd line) we are going to have scoring depth problems.  That 2nd line has been inconsistent and the 1st line can't carry the team every night.

I'm with you guys all the brutes in the lineup over faster more skilled guys is very frustrating to see.  I liked what little I saw of guys like Holland and Leivo I don't see how sitting them for pylons like Ashton and McLaren and Orr helps the team win.

Don't look now but Philly is slowly creeping up in the standings. Leafs are lucky Caps and Rags can't close out games.

Warm up lines have Smith in for McLaren. So it's not the worst line-up Randy could have gone with.

The tmlfans pressure is getting to him.

You know, I think you deleted a post in the Columbus game...are you the one that posted (when things had gone to shite) "Man, Columbus is awesome!"

I thought that was a pretty awesome post...whoever did it.

Didn't delete it, it's still there.

Must-win game for the Leafs.

The Sabres are awful and their record looks better than it actually is, because they're 3 for 3 in shootouts.

Excluding shootouts, they're 2-20-1... and one of those wins was against the Leafs.

Bottom line: Buffalo is atrocious and to not beat them would be an embarrassment.

Their organ music and singer are pretty good, though, and he moves right thru the anthems.  It's a base they can build on.
