We really need to get a heavyweight or two so Lupul doesn't have to keep dropping the gloves like that.

Gardiner 3:33 TOI
Rielly 3:53 TOI

For a team struggling to generate offense, maybe playing two of your more skilled offensive players a little more might be in the cards.

Yeah, but they were getting killed pretty good defensively in that period though.

I wouldn't say so.  The stats have Rielly on for 3 shot attempts for and 2 against, and Gardiner 2 and 2.  If they were killed I'd expect those to be worse.  Of course I'm sure those are in relatively easier minutes, but still.

Thought could have been either holding the stick or dive.  I hate that stuff.

Edit: I don't think you'll see Randy reduce Kadri's icetime, particularly after a call like that. I think he realizes that the Leafs are in an offensive funk and have to utilize the pieces they have right now.

Still though, first play of the period and Gardiner gives it away right in front of the net.

I know Kule does a lot off the scoresheet, but man, it's hard to believe he scored 30 goals in a season.

Yeah, perhaps those attempts they are giving up are very high quality ones.

I'll give Carlyle credit though, Gardiner gave it away again after our exchange above, but he stayed with him...

Anybody nervous?  No?

No, Bernier is solid and the Wild are looking nonlethal.

We do need to control the puck more in the 3rd tho.

It's a mess of a game really...could go either way.

I wish these guys could get some forecheck/cycle game going.  That's one thing I'd like to see Clarkson initiate.
