Lightning @ Leafs - Oct. 25th, 7:30pm - SN1, TSN 1050

Oh good, a 20 minute delay that kills any momentum from the Leafs scoring.  You should get a 2 minute penalty for delay of game.

It doesn't matter if it was close or not. The idea that the goal would be waved off if Komarov had his foot six inches further into the zone is insane.

But good on the NHL for letting the coach's challenge take the air out of the game anyway.

Careful it seems like we need 10 or 20 or 80 games to make sure before we can talk about how some or all of the vet acquisitions might be suspect.

I'm getting a vibe that people don't want the honeymoon for Shanahan et al to end, and admitting that they might have another bomb of a goalie deal and a Clarkson x0.5 on their hands would be just that.

I'm jokingly going with Andersen being a stealth tank commander at this point.

That's what I was thinking as well.  It was a smart tactic by Cooper even if the refs didn't reverse the call because it would take the wind out of the sails of the Leafs.

Truth be told, I think Tampa could be right. Komorov has his right skate over the line, and his left skate in the air when the puck goes over the blueline. It's extremely close.

Yep, it's those nasty rookies that are to blame for this as we show a bunch of veterans making poor plays.  It's amazing how the Polak/Hunwick guys became rookies again.

Oh, I forgot to add this gem:

Plays like that will be the Leafs bread and butter on the PP this year.

I don't and didn't like the Andersen deal when it was announced, that doesn't really impact my views on his play or the craziness of jumping to conclusions after a few games.

It's not exactly controversial to say that you shouldn't judge Andersen based on a sample of something like 3% of his career NHL games where his sv% is close to 40 points below his average over that career.

It's not the honeymoon being over.  It's that in order to accurately judge what is happening, you sometimes need a bigger sample size.  There are a lot of people being on record as saying they don't like the Andersen trade or the Matt Martin signing, and even though they didn't like the deals, there is still a strong push to make sure that blame is going to the correct areas, because if you don't define the problem properly, then you can't fix it.
