Marlies Talk 13/14

Jerry D'Amigo leads the AHL in playoff scoring with 11 points in 6 games.

13G 20A 33P in 32 career playoff games

I was just coming here to post that the Leafs need to find a spot in there lineup for D'Amigo next season. I like Bolland a lot, and I don't think he needs to steal a spot from someone like D'Amigo. I'd be more likely to make some room by moving the guys already with the big club. Let guys like Raymond, Franson, McClement and Orr go first.

I thought D'amigo played wing.  What does Bolland (or Franson for that matter) have anything to do with D'amigo's potential spot next year?

Nothing. Just listing guys that will be UFA or RFAs that should be let go to make room in general.

Wow, 4-0 won and sweep of Chicago (St Louis).

Yeah. They are 7-0 in these playoffs. That's two straight sweeps. Pretty damn impressive. Has to be a team record. Maybe even a league record?

Didn't they do the same thing two seasons ago?  Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

I just looked it up.  I was.  They went 3-0 and then 4-1.

I have a gut feeling that Sam Carrick is going to be nice cog in the Leaf machine that is coming

Carrick has come out of nowhere to become a real nice piece for the team....

Completely different team though, from top to bottom. This time is more impressive, as the players are mostly kids.

I agree.  This was supposed to be a rebuild year but I think they might even be a better team then the 'veteran' team they are replacing.  A lot of half decent prospects winning this time.

It's pretty exciting the prospect of filling out the bottom half of the roster with young role players who can be effective, with a couple of guys who could find their way into second line roles.

Wow the Carrick, Holland, Ashton line looks really good.  What a shot by Ashton!  Holland made his goal look so easy.

Would like to see a 3rd/4th line made of guys like this instead of players who cant play, ala Orr...

They face the Texas Stars, finished 1st overall in the AHL this year in the Western Conference Finals.

Game 1 against Texas, 17:20 left in the 3rd, getting outshot 29-16..... aaaaand they're up 3-0.

Well integrated systems between big club and farm.  They won 5-1 and are now 8-0 in the playoffs.

They were only outshot 50-19 to pull off that 5-1 win.  Unreal.

Somebody tweeted that the Marlies haven't trailed at any point of their 8 playoff wins.  Assuming that's true, that's just astounding.
