There goes some of the Marlies' offence.

Well, Marlies will be hit hard - not just Keith Aucoin going to Long Island, but no Kadri, no Frattin, no Gardiner, most porbably no Frazer or Holzer or Kostka. It is opprtunity for Scott, McKegg, D?AMigo.

Hopefully Connolly can replace Aucoin  ;D

Dallas Eakins...

Great day for Keith Aucoin and @TorontoMarlies. We r proud of Keith and we are excited that his commitment earned him a shot at a NHL job.

It's a huge opportunity for Colborne to step up. If he doesn't impress in the second half this season I have very little hope for him.

Marlies drop tonights game to the Sens 4-2 but what a depleted squad.  No Scrivens, Kostka, Fraser, Holzer, Kadri, Aucoin and Frattin from what they have been used to.  That is a lot to lose.  Only Connolly and Frattin coming as immediate help.  I know a lot of AHL teams will lose players but the Marlies will be one the hardest hit.

A very good chance to see some of our other prospects move up the latter and, show what they can do. this is how you find hidden gems, and I hope we find some. again good to see the system is going in an upward direction.

I agree he is getting older so needs to make the NHL soon or be a bust.  Same thing for Carter Aston.

That's OUR GUY!!
@TorontoMarlies Ryan Hamilton scores 3, including the winner with 11 seconds left in the game. MVP of @TheAHL All Star Game

Sweet.

Will this guy ever make the Leafs?

He's a big guy who can skate, play defense, PK and score some (.5ppg in AHL, .3 goals per game). As team captain, he's got good character. If he would use that big body of his to hit and really muscle puck battles, he'd be hard to keep off this team. But I've been saying that for a couple of years and I'm sure his coaches have too.

If the Leafs keep Orr in the line up maybe Hamilton could do Brown's position well.

We need Colton Orr in the lineup baby!  Those 3-4 minutes a game strike fear into the very heart of our opponents!

He's almost 28 and has 2 NHL games under his belt, that screams "career minor leaguer" to me.

That didn't stop the Leafs from bringing up Kostka who at 27 should have been the same thing.  He's suddenly a 32 minute a game, Pronger like workhorse.

Except that he's at camp every year and doesn't make the team. Kostka did.  Hamilton was there this year as well... still didn't make it.

Sure because the Leafs are looking at slotting different roles and he wouldn't be a typical guy on a 4th line role, but I hazard to guess he has more talent than say Orr.
