Now hearing that player <name> might possibly but is probably likely more than not willing to be dealt today, tomorrow or Monday but Sunday wouldn't be ruled out either.  <team name> are making calls and listening.

Thanks for the update!  It's all coming into focus...  ;D

He is approaching 30 which we all know is not exactly a great time in the career for most power forwards.

How is having turned 27 in November almost 30?  I suppose Schenn is also almost 25.

It's sort of the same way that your pilot will say that you're approaching Toronto but it still takes you a couple hours to get off the plane.

Apparently, the kings want Schenn and Frattin...

No thanks...

I don't know, he could be that Lucic-ish type player we could really use.

Not too mention he's missed only 9 games in his entire career.

Brown is exactly the type of player this team needs. I've wanted him here for a long time now.

No thanks? I dunno, id put some thought into that trade. At least Schenn and maybe switch frattin with something else. Brown isnt someone to shrug off.

The only way I think of this deal is on a one for one basis and I might not even give up Schenn. For LA to even think of dumping their captain puts up huge red flags for me, and seeing they're fighting for a playoff spot makes the flags bigger. You just don't get rid of "Your Leader" during this time.

Think he's been struggling since Darryl Sutter came aboard.  Sutter made some comments about him and Kopitar I think (about how they need to focus more on themselves and not the team or something), and had him moved from right to left wing.

Was also speculated they want to just make Mike Richards captain.

Frattin is as big as Brown, 4 years younger, cheaper, and just may be as good or better than Brown.

No way you give up Schenn AND Frattin for Brown.

Agreed, not a chance.

I'm going to get flamed here but I don't understand why folks wouldn't move Gardiner in a deal for the right player. Look, I like Gardiner plenty but is he really the next Niedermayer or is he going to be something closer to the next Liles?

I'd take the Niedermeyer comparison.  If he's traded and turns out to be just that, won't we be regretting it thereafter?

Keep Gardiner!  :)

I'd move Gardiner but it has to be the right deal....No one is untouchable

Stop the madness!  Schenn is 22, still developing but has the tools to be a great shutdown D-man.  Brown has developed nicely into a role-player (leader/gritty forward), but at 27 he is in his prime, what you see is what you get with him now (in my opinion), he's not going to skyrocket into a points/PIMs leader.

I agree he's exactly what our forward corps needs, but not at the cost of Schenn.  Give them Aulie (who is a Schenn clone but behind Luke in development) or one of the puck-moving D instead.  Luke has a ways to go but he will be a stalwart on the back end for years if we don't give up on him.

I've heard the Liles comparison before. How could he be the next Liles when he's already better than Liles after only 50 games in the league? Niedermayer may be a stretch, but his ceiling looks to be pretty darn high. I'd only move him if it was a major upgrade at some position and there was no other way around it. Like it or not, we may see it happen this week-end.

As per TSN:  Leafs looking at Oilers Khabibulin as potential netminder.  He has one year left on his contract, is 39, and could provide veteran netminding.

Another option, Nabokov, if Isles decide otherwise.

Kings willing to trade Dustin Brown but demands are high.

If we're taking on Habby then hopefully we're getting something else along with him. Oilers would love to dump his contract. That would also spell the end to Gus in T.O.
