No, I'm guessing it's just a standard pre-draft talk about how the Leafs are approaching the weekend. Pretty dull right now with an empty hallway and random people walking around.

He's a blowhard who just loves the sound of his own voice?
Zee said:Bozak is as good as gone, Nonis said signing him isn't a priority in the next few days. Said he needs to get him to a number that makes sense.

I would like to preface though, that I think he more or less implied that the draft is their main focus right now and the numbers need to come down. I don't think that necessarily means he's gone.
Good points Zee. Although Grabs had a poor season in terms of scoring a lot due to a change in role but did he have the best defensive stats for a forward at even strength? Sorry in advance if that is a lazy question. I really hope he is better next season.Zee said:Nonis didn't mention anything about buying out his own players. Everyone is expecting Komisarek but I think it makes no sense to waste a compliance buyout on a guy with 1 year left. Save both buyouts and you can use them next summer if necessary. Grabovski might become a candidate next summer if he has another bad year.

I agree with NOT buying out Komisarek. I have hoped that he would be traded to NYI and our 1st (21st overall) for DiPietro and NYI's 1st (15th overall) and use one of the amnesty buyouts on DiPietro.
As for Grabovski, I also believe that this year was a hiccup and that he will be 50 + points again next year.

Would that be worth doing to move up 6 places? Surely we'd want their first without giving up ours. Then try to flip both firsts for a top 8 pick.

Yeah I don't imagine the Leafs owners would be too keen on paying a lot of dough to move up 6 spots.
A DiPietro buyout would cost the Islanders the 15th overall, or a good prospect. Whether they want Komi or not is completely up to them. The Leafs either pay Komi not to play this year or pay DiPietro not to play this year, so it's not like they gain much by moving their own first.

Same as Vancouver. With them looking to fix the goaltending situation as well as move Edler's $5.0 MIL contract I was wondering if Liles for Luongo, Edler and Van 1st pick (24th overall) would work.
That would use up both buyouts but gain 2 extra 1st round picks.

Vancouver laughs and hangs up at that one. It would be a more valuable move for them to buy out Luongo than to make that trade. Edler's contract is a very good one. He does not get moved to shed salary unless there's actual value coming back.

"I?m still trying to see if there?s a deal out there that can change our look but not hurt us in the long term," he said. "He reiterated once again that he has no intention of trading either defenceman Jake Gardiner or centre Nazem Kadri, and that the only way either would be moved would be for a blue-chip player of similar age. Similarly, defenceman Morgan Rielly, 2013 first-round pick Fredrik Gauthier and the team?s first-round pick in June are all basically untouchable."
Jake Gardiner Born: July 4, 1990 (age 23), Minneapolis
Nazem Kadri Born: October 6, 1990 (age 23), London
John Tavares Born: September 20, 1990 (age 23), Mississauga
Johnny is a blue-chip of similar age Dave. Just saying.
