Official Ottawa Senators Thread

Also, Ottawa, you're trying way too hard to appear old-timey. You're a 90's expansion team. Embrace it.

Still don't understand the bizarre obsession you have with how other teams celebrate their history.

Well, it's easy. I'm obsessed by how certain teams celebrate the history of other teams.

Yes, paying homage to an old team in the same city with the same name is pathetic.  And using it as an (apparently successful) marketing campaign is pathetic too.

It's like they're some kind of business or something.

Co-opting a history that you played no part in? Yes, that's exactly what it is.

It's like a straight dude railing against gay marriage.

Actually, I would say it's much more like Harper taking credit for Canada's strong banking system when the regulations were put in place by Paul Martin.

They're taking credit for accomplishments that aren't theirs.

Tell you what, we'll agree to disagree.

You sit there and stew about what an injustice this is.

I'll wear my awesome heritage jersey while appreciating Frank Finnigan.

Or, you know, make fun of them for it. They're suburban white kids rejecting their slave names and renaming themselves Bradley X.

Well, I'll try my best not to get too upset about it.  But my memory's not great, so you may have to remind me now and then why you care.

A brief history of Teemu Selanne
...(edit)...

June 6, 2007 - Even during his most triumphant moment the classy Selanne insists on sharing the credit with those who made it all possible, which makes it kind of awkward when he goes to hand the Stanley Cup to Chris Phillips.

Don't care who you are, that there is funny.  LOL.

I haven't seen a lot of Turris up to this point. Let's hope this guy can now just focus on hockey and get on with it.
