Oilers @ Leafs - Feb. 7th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

Morgan Rielly is a fantastic reason for why firing Carlyle was the right move.  He's getting more ice-time.  He's demonstrating more confidence and he's developing toward being an all-important top pairing defenseman for the Leafs moving forward.

He's also the best argument for blowing the team up. If they're going to lose, might as well lose with young exciting players.

So what do you guys think of Yakupov?  Would he blossom somewhere else?

I don't know what I would give up to get him, but if the Oilers are selling low I'd be interested in giving him a shot. Would be a nice Lupul-replacement if we move him.

That was a really gutsy move by Horachek to dress Orr and McLaren during the 1st intermission.  Their toughness spurred the Leafs on to those 3 goals.

You. Are. On. Fire.

Maybe? But I'd be wary of putting him on another bad team. It'd be interesting seeing what he could do in, say, Boston or either New York team but I don't know if putting him on a bad Leafs team and pairing him with one of our crummy centers would do much for him.

I don't know. I don't see it happening. I think the guy has a lot of Daigle in him. Won't shock me if he's back in Russia in the next few years.

I was thinking Radulov, I'd like to see him on a good team first eight enough.

Carlyle or not he was headed that way.

Man Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gets overrated a lot.  Somehow he's an A+ talent according to that random Sportsnet graphic.

What part of 4th year in the NHL with zero 20 goal seasons and a career high of 56 points is an A+ talent.  He's a good player but he's not someone I would break the bank to acquire or a guy I would build a team around.

When he was drafted he was touted as being more "North American" than most Russians, IIRC.  (just observing, not endorsing that)
