Oilers @ Leafs - Feb. 7th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

Man, Yakupov's body language that shift ... first when 85 muffed his pass and then when Reimer stopped him ... and then he skated off even though the Oilers still had possession....

No physical activity until you clear concussion protocol Part 1.  No on-ice drills until you clear Part 2.  No physical contract until you clear Part 3.  A concussion that has you missing more than a week absolutely kills your season.

Even if a guy breaks his arm/leg you can still work the rest of your body and stay in some form of shape.

no. i get it. im a big fan of the way he plays. im more worried that he cant shake the cobwebs.  its not like he can rely on his goal scoring prowess or slick passing if he cant use his physical strength

I don't think its about shaking the cobwebs though.  His timing is way off.  There have been a lot of plays where his usual rubouts are late and he barely makes contact with a guy or he misses altogether.  That's the effect of having your legs behind your head more than anything else.

Just like the Leafs to lose the shutout with 2 sec left. I had a feeling it was going to happen when I saw the puck heading over to the open point man. Oh well, feel bad for Reimer.

Agree that Komarov hasn't been the same since his return. Hope he can eventually return to form.

If Hanifin is what he's claimed to be, could he be a big part of the answer for Edmonton?

Is he ready to play close to 30 minutes a night for the Oil?

Hanifin and Nurse would be a tremendous top pairing to build around. Oilers would really have to Oil it up to ruin those two.

What part of 4th year in the NHL with zero 20 goal seasons and a career high of 56 points is an A+ talent.  He's a good player but he's not someone I would break the bank to acquire or a guy I would build a team around.

I agree. He's not a true #1C in my mind. He's more of a #1B or a #2+. He's sort of like Krecji. For a team to be successful with him, they'll need their own version of Bergeron to go with him.

I missed watching this game, but just got caught up on the GDT. y'all had some really good zingers tonight.
