Panthers @ Leafs - Dec. 20th, 7:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

I tried to post earlier and the entire thing went to cyberspace. What is going on the Goat?  You Sheep lovers are not seeing the true Freddie till now. I wish he had potted the crossbar. Will always be 6'5"

It was nice to see the cross-seam click again.  In October they looked like they could do that at will.

And Marincin is showing some offensive flair.  He is not your 2016 Martin Marincin.
He is looking at what we wanted for a long time...finally

Marincin has had a good night so far. Broke up some plays, blocked a shot, moving the puck

If Gardiner were as bad as people say he is defensively you'd think it'd show up somewhere statistically but, if it does, I can't find it.

So you?re stating that he is good defensively?

No, what I said and am happy to repeat is that there doesn't seem to be a ton of evidence statistically that Gardiner being on the ice lets the other team score bushels of goals. Or, at least, that the goals the other team is scoring outweighs his contributions offensively by any real margin.

Whether or not someone is "good" defensively seems like a tricky thing to objectively measure but just from watching him I've never come away from things thinking he's particularly bad even while acknowledging that he's certainly not a penalty killing stalwart.

Are you watching the game? He's been brutal.. Luckily he's been bailed out by his partner and Freddie. The eye test is Theo nky stat we need.

Yeah I'm fine with that Kadri call. It could have been a pretty dangerous play with Kadri's skate blade and Luongo's hand both going for the same thing.
