Penguins @ Leafs - Oct. 18th, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Not a great effort.  This team plays with a lot more energy on the road then at home.

Not a great decision to pull the goalie so earlier either.

Puck was over the line as the whistle went. But of course the refs are going by when they intended to blow the whistle.

I?ve never understood that part of ruling.  How can you intend to do something and call that an actua play.  If I intend to stop at a stop sign but don?t, I still blew the stop sign.

That was just bizarre. It clearly crossed the line before the whistle went and it was fairly conclusive. Oh well this was a snoozefest anyway. Can't win them all.

Kadri's line dominated possession tonight, Matthews' line got dominated. One has workers and no finish, the other can't cycle but will pounce on opportunities when they're there. I wouldn't mind seeing those lines mixed up a little:

Kadri-Matthews-Brown
Marleau-Lindholm-Kapanen

They could have given that one to the Leafs considering they missed Hyman almost losing an eye but whatever

Well that was disappointing.  I would have loved to have seen

Kadri-Matthews-Kapanen

Double-shifted along with the Tavares line in the 3rd.

I would like to see this happen because we need Kadri to get going. Like I said in another thread, Marleau is miscast on Matthews line.

Didn't like that high stick on Hyman by Guenzel.  Should have been a penalty by any other name.

Also, the disallowed goal.  Well, at least they scored but it wasn't legit.

Overall disappointed with the Leafs performance  in this game.  Pittsburgh little-thinged them very efficiently, especially Matthews, and kept the Leafs top forwards 'off balance' so to speak.

Another things is they've surrendered the first goal so many times this year. Their luck is going to run out unless they start scoring first.

Well, my prediction about Kadri scoring came true...

On a night that our high power offense gets shut down, both Martin and Komarov score for NYI.
