And while I was typing that, the series ends. Colossal choke. I am afraid that is all we are going to hear about all summer long from the media and fans of other teams. This was the worst way they could have gone out.

No it really isn't. They could've been swept. They could've gone out a la Montreal in 5. They could have gone out a lot of ways.

Stretching it to game 7 against a heavily favoured team, and nearly winning it all is far from "the worst way they could've gone out".

I think he means this was the worst because it was within grasp. And I fully agree.

Im not sure if I should just chug a bottle of a tequila, or bang my head into the wall , whichever one makes me pass out and forget this horrible memory first.

Any respect the team gained, they lost it in this game.

Good night.

What happened to not posting during the series?

What happened to be being done with this team?

Are you actually going to Frig off this time?

Carlyle did a heck of a job he just needed one more trick up his sleeve to get them into the next series

This hurts. I guess it wasn't indigestion after all.

No man, was hurting much worse, but I believe in this group, they played equal to equal to their worst pick.

Hats off!

Very great effort to overcome Boston power.

Just fantastic!

I prefer to stay with what they brought instead of thinking what they couldn't.

This is going to hurt for a while. How do you blow a 4-1 lead in 14:30? I'm pissed, but this will experience will make them stronger next time they are in the playoffs, like next year.

I know he was struggling in the draw himself, but not having Bozak really hurt.

I know we're weak down the middle but to be honest I think Boston's injuries on a defence were a bigger handicap

You try to keep an even keel about these things, but that game was over. The series was over. And for some reason, it wasn't. Just to rip everyone's heart out.

4-1 lead with 11 minutes to go in Game 7 and a loss. There are no words. Except pathetic.

Oh, definitely. And I mentioned that earlier in the thread. It wasn't clear, but I was thinking more about for next season. We didn't look bad down the middle without him, but he shores up that positions biggest weakness.

time for the Jonathan Toews jersey to come out I guess.

Thanks for a much better year than previous, as abbreviated as it was. I have higher hopes for next season.

2 things ring true. Proven by these 2 teams. You are never out of a series. You are never out of a game.

Bottom line when the game was on the line Chara was better than Phaneuf and Rask was better than Reimer.  Reimer still had a heck of a series, Phaneuf I'm not so sure about.  Other than standing up guys at the line (which I don't recall seeing much of) physically he can be pretty weak. IMO Franson and Gardiner were both miles better.

It's partly on Carlyle for insisting that Phaneuf and Gunnar are out to the defend the lead instead of Franson and Gardiner, the latter were better at getting the puck out all series long.

Not winning any draws  is killer.  Every time Reimer froze the puck in our end I would cringe because I knew it would lead to the Bruins setting something up.  We have to shore that up next season as top priority.  This hurts so much  :-\

Truth hurts, I know.

Just because it's your opinion, doesn't make it the truth.

I've already read many statements about how the Leafs have earned respect, including a number of posts (facebook, twitter, etc.) by fans of other teams stating exactly that.
