R1G7: Leafs @ Bruins - May 13th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Does lucic score if he's in the box for slew footing gunnarson?  I like when refs put the whistle away but that one was a bit much

Frustrating and disappointing the way we blew it but totally proud of this team. Made huge strides and we are a young team and only going to get better. What we need is better team defence. Carlyle needs to improve that. Don't really see much difference when Wilson was here as far as defensive zone coverage. Give up way too many chances. Also love a tough D man who can clear the front of the net. Hate seeing guys not being moved or taken out in our crease. Too many soft D. Everything else is fine. Fine tune those areas Nonis and Carlyle and we will only be better. Next year everyone. Take care c you in October.

Sure, gotta be proud with this team.

But a big part of that is thrown out the window with this massive choke job. I don't care if no one expected them to take it this far -- they blew it. What heartbreak.  :'(

What a sick feeling this is.

Actually the choke is there and nobody can deny it.

But for the rest we should be pleased, nobody picked Leafs to get in game 6, they got muuuuch more, but they didnt have the experience to end it.

I'm feeling very bad after what we had, but we didnt play alone.

Boston fantastic win brings us our fantastic match in the series. They won a Cup 2 years ago, but  we are fresh meat. I'm good and proud of them.

so the leafs outplayed them for the last 3 games minus the last 10 minutes of the last 2 games (one of which they won) and one rush in OT (gm 5).  AND they did it without their #1 centre (best faceoff man) for the last 2.

I'll take it.

GLG...I had fun following this team this year.

We'll see what this group is made of.  This type of thing can crush a group of players.  Until they can hold leads, the question will always be there.

Truth hurts, I know.

Just because it's your opinion, doesn't make it the truth.

I've already read many statements about how the Leafs have earned respect, including a number of posts (facebook, twitter, etc.) by fans of other teams stating exactly that.

While they're laughing behind your back.

Look man, believe what you want. Whatever helps you get through the day.

::) I'm not particularly concerned about what others think, nor do i need any help getting through the day.

There's no denying they blew it, but one game doesn't erase the respect they've earned this season. But hey, believe what you want, man.

That's what I'm doing.

You're a true inspiration.

Not as inspiring as the last 11 minutes of that game.

it's officially an NHL record:
Bruins become the first team in NHL history to win a Game 7 after trailing by 3 goals in the 3rd period.

I dont think I can watch the playoffs for the rest of the year

you mean like they did in game 5 and 6...both elimination games.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I'm done too.

I'm certainly less invested. I imagine I'll tune back in for the finals, but, not sure how much I'll watch before that.

Same here, but that's how I've been for the last five years or so.

I want to wax lyrical about how they earned respect etc and it will stand them in good stead going forward, but I wonder if losing in this fashion will be damaging to the psyche of the core group of players here.

I'm heartbroken, I want to get lost in a bottle of hard liquor or punch multiple holes in a wall.

This one was a little different, I think.  In any event, maybe it strengthens them.  Let's hope.

What a frustrating game. I never could have dreamed that Toronto would take Boston to game 7 but what an awful Leaf choke job. That defense is just brutal and I know Franson 'earned' 2nd star honours but he was just abysmal all night in his zone. Same goes for Phaneuf, who looks like he's battling some kind of injury. Surprised Carlyle would keep putting him on the ice so much and in so many crucial situations if that were the case but, then again, it's Caryle so absolutely anything is possible.

I would also like to give a shout out to some of the worst refereeing I've seen in awhile. I'm a fan for letting things go but that was an absolute embarrassment.  Also, I can't stand Marchand's face.

That's hurting a lot, like putting salt over the open wound.
