Red Wings @ Leafs - Dec. 23rd, 7:30pm - SN, Fan 590

Gardiner is +17 this year. Plus minus is by no means a perfect stat but the idea that his being on the ice hurts the Leafs really doesn't have much in the way of weight behind it.

Refs tilted the ice a good bit this period but the Leafs apparently thought it was OK to stop playing after 27 seconds.

His two pretty blatant giveaways led to both Detroit goals. So, tonight it does.

He is frustrating sometimes but there's no way you honestly believe what you're saying.

He's easily, easily, our 2nd best player in the position that we're the weakest at. Anyone who thinks losing him will make our team better is quite frankly nuts.

Leafs getting outworked by a team they should easily outskill.

Easy to outwork when you can hit Marceau from behind and then cross check him right after without a penalty.  Marner was interfered with before he held the stick.  Marner was tripped directly leading to that shift where Detroit scored their second goal.  It?s easy to control the play when you get to do whatever thebhell you want on the ice

The Leafs are just going to have to bear down and ignore the missed calls rather than letting that frustration get to their heads. They can control their own fate by making sure they have the puck more.

Detroit players are falling very easily.

Its also easy to control the play when you work harder than your opponent.

Well, if any team has the ability to bounce back after a period like that one it's this bunch.

Flip side is despite a few saves Sparks still looks completely lost.  He needs a tether to stay in the crease.

For the record, Gardiner couldn?t make a pass to clear the zone and instead turned it over which resulted in a goal against. Not a fan....carry on.
